October 3, 2017Ross Barkan is Running Against Marty Golden – Bay Ridge
Journalist, Ross Barkan Knows Bay Ridge – he’s been reporting the truth about the area for years. Barkan explains why he is running here.
Marty Golden has been filling our papers with press releases and then claiming he is doing so much for Bay Ridge, but we can see he isn’t. Bay Ridge has terrible subway service – it hasn’t improved in more than 20 years. How is that possible when Senator Marty Golden sits on the MTA Capital Review Board? YES, HE DOES but none of the local papers will mention this or question Golden about it!
Maybe Ross Barkan is tired of Marty Golden voting to give tax breaks to rich developers in Manhattan, rather than doing anything to help renter or home owners in Bay Ridge. See the Daily News Story
Barkan knows the R Train is a disaster for Bay Ridge residents because he uses the R Train.
Barkan also isn’t afraid to call out nonsense politics like Mayor DeBlasio’s PR stunt.
Ross Barkan isn’t a politician, but he’s ready to go to bat for the neighborhood he’s known his whole life
And that is the best news I heard all week!! Click here to donate to Barkan’s campaign.

October 2, 2017Daniel Donovan Told Us He was With Liam McCabe – Not The Other Guy!
![]()
Congressman Dan Donovan endorsed Liam McCabe. The endorsement said – Liam was the one, not Quaglione. Sorry Dan, you don’t get to choose again after you said – “Don’t vote for that guy, vote for my guy, Liam McCabe.”
Next year, Donovan will be running the race of his life against Michael Grimm and I guess he needs all of the allies he can get. But he already told Bay Ridge that Liam was the one and NOT QUAGLIONE.

October 2, 2017Has the Brooklyn Republican Party Fallen Apart?
Today, the 2017 Republican Kings County Convention was held. It doesn’t sound like there was much interest in the meeting. Even Mr. Republican, Marty Golden wasn’t present at the meeting. Why didn’t Marty Golden march all around the Republican Convention like a proud peacock?
The County Convention had to be happen today because it must take place within 20 days of the primary election and today is Day 20. It’s a bad sign for the Republican Party where there isn’t a lot of interest in the convention. Info here
And their headquarters is gone:
The Brooklyn Republican Party suffered a lot of losses!
- Nicole Malliotakis bombed out – Most of NYC wasn’t rooting for Nicole. They knew this already though.
- John Quaglione lost – even after they used the placeholder candidate and REBNY SuperPac got involved. This is the GOP that Ted Ghorra is leading in Bay Ridge.
If you are a Republican and don’t really like what’s going on in the Republican Party in Brooklyn – read the comments here, as something isn’t quite right there.

October 2, 2017Justin Brannan Understands What Bay Ridge Needs!
Under Neighborhood Policing, a precinct is divided into four or five sectors and sector officers work the same shifts in the same neighborhoods each day to increase familiarity and build relationships with residents. Each sector also has two neighborhood coordination officers (NCOs) who serve as liaisons between the police department and the community.” See the rest of the story here
Justin Brannan knows we need cops out on our streets and interacting with the public. Everyone loves the police officer on the horse, but we need Neighborhood Policing. Brannan is very hands-on, appreciative and respectful towards the NYPD. That’s important to a lot of people who live in Bay Ridge. See Brannan’s tweet below – notice it’s from 2014 when he wasn’t running for office.
Before I lived in Bay Ridge, I lived in another neighborhood nearby where the police are more apparent. Although I didn’t know the police officers by name, they knew me and said, “oh you live over there and you have a lot of dogs.” I asked them how they knew that and they said, “It’s out job to know whose living here. ” Their knowledge of the neighborhood kept the area safe. People always went up to them to talk with them and tell them what was going on.

October 2, 2017Brannan ~ He’s Bay Ridge’s Guy
Some families in Bay Ridge had these magnetic bumper stickers made for Justin Brannan. That’s how you know that Brannan is important to this community.
I am glad to see the community coming out for Brannan, as he’s been helping people for years and will be a terrific councilman!

October 2, 2017Nicole Malliotakis ~ The Staten Island Flip Flop
For years, Malliotakis has benefited from a lot of “press release politics” that plagues Staten Island and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Now that she wants to play Mayor, journalists are showing she is a political flip flop.
1) Three years ago, Nicole Malliotakis spoke out against the campaign finance system. Now Malliotakis is using the same program she deemed unnecessary (see here)
2) Nicole Malliotakis voted against gay marriage (see bill below). In 2017, she said she wished she didn’t (see here). “This is a slap in the face to the leaders of the Conservative Party.” fumed Mike Long (see here).
3) In 2016, Nicole Malliotakis voted for Trump. Now she wishes she wrote in Marco Rubio so that she could say now that she voted for Marco Rubio. Not only did she vote for Trump, but she went to the inauguration and the ball as well. Republicans are not happy about her denouncing Trump.
4) Nicole Malliotakis has repeatedly voted against the New York Dream Act. She boasted on Twitter how many times she voted against it and kept complaining because the Assembly kept bringing the bill back. Now Malliotakis is speaking out in favor of DACA. In a recent article, Malliotakis stated that immigration needs reform. She said that years ago in Bay Ridge as well, but Nicole Malliotakis has done nothing to help reform immigration.
In 2013 Nicole Malliotakis voted for Senator Marty Golden’s bill giving huge tax breaks to developers in Manhattan. After she voted for this bill, she was silent about it on social media, even though she had active accounts on Facebook and Twitter. When will Malliotakis flip and speak out against the tax breaks for developers?
September 20th, Team Malliotakis thinks they still have a chance in the election. Summer’s over guys – throw in the beach towel with the flip flop!

![]()
Strangely the debate forgot to name John Bruno and put John Quaglione down as the Conservative candidate….. has John Bruno slipped out as the placeholder candidate? More info here John Quaglione told a reporter it was going to go down like this, which is strange because now the Conservatives Party is trying to control our election. If John Bruno received an offer to be a judge, then that would be considered normal, BUT THIS WAS PLANNED and everyone has been talking about it for months.
- Democrat Justin Brannan
- Republican/Conservative John Quaglione (What happened to John Bruno?)
- Reform Party Robert Capano.
