Embrace Bay Ridge Natives

I saw this on a new Bay Ridge site:

When I read that I thought two things:

a) Everyone is a native from somewhere so everyone knows what pride and attachment someone has to their home base.

b) You are as much a part of something as you allow yourself to be. Some immigrants want to be part of things and they will put themselves out there. Some wait for an invitation to get involved.

I am not from Bay Ridge, but I find people who were born here and I suck all the information I can from them (it’s the truth) .  LOL. I will engage with them questions anytime I can because I love hearing their inside knowledge.

They help me find the best workers to get things done on my house efficiently and affordably.  The Natives are the ones who know  the area and can tell you which restaurants, bakeries and shops to visit to get the best, cheapest and freshest of anything. I have shared all they taught me in this blog.

The article questioned if putting down roots involved home ownership. For some, it means that, for others it doesn’t. If someone wants a home and to take care of a home, then that’s what they will do. Other people enjoy renting.  I don’t know if the author is just frustrated with the crazy home prices in Bay Ridge or if they are a socialist and are against people purchasing homes.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with questioning everything, but in a place like Bay Ridge, you know Bay Ridge has been great for many years because many  natives (not all)  made Bay Ridge great – so embrace them!

John Bruno Needs to Step Down From This Election

John Bruno Bay Ridge Dyker Heights Judge Election CD43

November 7, 2017 Update: Thank you for voting against the Placeholder Candidate Brooklyn! John Bruno did not get enough votes to become a judge. Bruno didn’t even get 10% of the vote. The man John Bruno was the placeholder candidate for didn’t win the election either.

It’s bizarre that a man who wants to be a judge in NYC participated in controlling the CD43 election.

The Conservative Party Placeholder Candidate, John Bruno should have stepped down after he saw John Quaglione told the scheme of “the Placeholder Candidate” to the newspaper over a month before the deal went down. We heard about the deal during the Summer.

We don’t understand how a man could think it’s okay to run for a position as a judge when he and his cronies are responsible for Bay Ridge having a controlled election?  Bay Ridge isn’t Iran.

Mike Long, Head of the Conservative Party explained the deal in today’s paper and stated that Jerry Kassar was aware of the deal because he is the Conservative Party delegate who had to do the switch.

In order for the deal to happen, one man had to agree to be the Placeholder Candidateand sign the paperwork to be the candidate for both the Conservative and Interdependence Parties.

John Bruno needs to withdraw from the election because judges need to be ethical. The “placeholder deal” has taken away our rights to a free election here in Bay Ridge.

There is a  picture of John Bruno here. The paper stated that Bruno was a Dyker Heights attorney. We saw that he serves on the Board of Governors for the DHCA Dyker Heights Civic Association. IRONICALLY, the Dyker Heights Civic Association’s slogan is Democracy in Action – Yet, there’s not much democracy happening in our election!

By now, John Bruno should have taken responsibility and stepped down/issued a statement to our community.

Is this Bias Reporting in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn Eagle?

John Alexander John Quaglione Paula Katinas

Today I saw this strange headline in The Eagle and then a little bit of information about Justin Brannan under it. Why wouldn’t Brannan have made the headline as well?  Both Paula Katinas and John Alexander wrote the story together. Didn’t either writer think anything was wrong with leaving Brannan out of the headline?

We’re used to this type of reporting in Bay Ridge.

It’s a shame the journalists do their in front of their family, friends and a community where people know them.  On the last article, I pointed out John Alexander gave preferential treatment in The Eagle.   A neighbor said, “I’m surprised he would do that because I know John’s wife and she’s so nice.”  So they do this in the community where people know their spouses and they don’t care.

When Quaglione ran in 2013, The Eagle did the same type of reporting and he still lost.

Joe Lhota Doesn’t Want To See ‘R’ Train Users

On Friday, October 13th at 12:00 pm, Joe Lhota is going to be in Bay Rigde to have the official opening of the Bay Ridge Avenue Station. It’s Friday the 13th!

Anyone who has a job would be working by that time and unable to go. Why isn’t Lhota meeting residents at 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM to celebrate the opening of the station?

I’m glad to see some residents will be meeting Lhota at the presser. People are upset that the MTA is spending millions to restore stations, but not making them ADA compliant so they can’t be used by disabled or elderly residents.  Protesters will be meeting at 11:30 at the Bay Ridge Station to crash Lhota’s presser.

Ross Barkan will be protesting because traveling to work from Bay Ridge shouldn’t be a hassle. See more here

Bay Ridge Debate – October 17th at Xaverian High School

If you missed the debate, you can hear it here

The Bay Ridge Community Council does not have the website listed on this flyer.

Their website is http://brccbrooklyn.org

The flyer list John Quaglione as the Conservative Party Candidate. Did the Bay Ridge Community Council originally invite John Bruno to be at this debate? John Bruno was the placeholder candidate that John Quaglione told us about.

Be sure to ask John Quaglione why Bay Ridge has to have an election like Iran, where the Conservative Party used a placeholder candidate to control an election (info here). This is Brooklyn, not Iran.
