Fire on 77th Street Between Ridge and Colonial – Bay Ridge – 10/22/17

We heard about a fire in Bay Ridge on 77th Street between Ridge and Colonial this evening.

The Citizen app displayed a blazing fire in the top floor of the home. It also also had an  address, but the address doesn’t match up to the home on google maps (different type of home, windows, roof)

Update: Justin Brannan reported there was a small fire at that address, but that the video on the app is fake.

Do You Need a Speedbump Installed on Your Street?

Are cars racing down your street in Brooklyn? Many parents are finding that they need a speed bump install to stop the grand prix going on in front of their homes.

How can I get a speed bump installed on my block?

The process is long – it’s takes about 2 – 2.5 years, but once the speed bump is installed, the racing stops.

1.Fill out the form online to request a speed bump

2. You will be contacted by e-mail about the next steps to take

3. The city will conduct a speed study to see if a speed bump is needed

4.You have to collect signatures from your block to from people who believe the speed bump is needed so going door to door will be needed.

5.Get approval from Community Board 10

Then you just have to wait.
