December 22, 2017Filming The Good Cop in Bay Ridge – 12/22/17
More filming this week in Bay Ridge……Signs are in the high 90’s and 3rd Avenue for the show, “The Good Cop.” Of course it is annoying because they are taking a lot of the parking spots. Yes, they are filming kinda late into the night and the bright lights are annoying to families, especially because there is a giant crane with a huge light blaring into people’s homes. Tony Danza and Josh Groban are in the show.

December 20, 2017Cathy’s Place is Now The Coffee Club ~ Bay Ridge
I am glad Cathy’s Place just had a name change to The Coffee Club (cute name) – Same Owners! That means the same great coffee! Plus it’s a small independently owned restaurant that makes Bay Ridge the place it today.

December 20, 2017We’ll Miss Councilman Gentile!
Councilman Vincent Gentile is finishing out his final term as a Councilman. Gentile was a great Councilman and will be missed! Kadia Goba showed him at his final City Hall Meeting.
Gentile shared a photo of his last meeting with the Brooklyn delegates.
We will miss Councilman Gentile being our Councilman and we hope he takes another role in the community because he is a fantastic leader!

December 18, 2017Deutsch Burns John Quaglione
Councilman Chaim Deutsch obviously has had enough with people playing politics around him. After John Quaglione shot him a tweet, Deutsch burned him:
Wooooooooooooooooooo Burnnnnnnnnnnn!
Deutsch was honest with Quaglione — Enough is enough!
Quaglione continues to make comments about the newly elected Councilman, as if he is still campaigning against him. The election was six weeks ago. The campaigning is over, the people have spoken and the position was filled.
Quaglione was responding to this, but shouldn’t have included his old opponent in it, as the Councilman-Elect hasn’t taken office yet.
After an election, people move on and if they are going to do things in the community, they do them.
Some do nothing and are called out for their “sour grapes” comments. #TeamBitter

December 18, 2017Warren Chan Just Doesn’t Understand……
On Friday, Warren Chan was caught being inappropriate on Facebook to Assemblywoman Yu-line. I thought his account was hacked because the comment was so out of character.
Warren should have issued a quick and polite apology to Assemblywoman Yu-line Niou and to the public, as he was viewed as a leader in Brooklyn. A better man would have done that.
Instead, Chan issued a statement to the press and excused his lewd comments aimed at Assemblywoman Yu-line Niou by saying it was just profanity. The Daily News noted that: He’s sorry, but not really.
NOOOO Warren it wasn’t “just profanity.” Maybe Warren Chan just doesn’t understand that he was crude and offensive in a sexual way toward an educated and professional woman.
While Chan is living in his head thinking that Niou asked for his removal from the new Councilman’s transition team, it was actually a man who requested Chan be removed for the racist and inappropriate comment.
Further, besides minimizing his poor behavior, Warren Chan tried to insult Assemblyoman’s Niou’s intelligence because the news picked up the story, he lost a job and the light was shined on him being inappropriate. The Assemblywoman has only been professional. She called out the lewd comment because it was so out of line. I don’t understand Chan’s continued aggression and negativity towards her.
Warren Chan just doesn’t get it and he doesn’t have a good enough friend to tell him to shut up.

December 17, 2017RIP Helen Malinowski – Dyker Heights Accident
There was a lot of traffic in Dyker Heights tonight because police were investigating an accident that took place before 3:00 pm and closed some streets for hours. Video here
A serious accident accident happened on 81st Street and 11th Avenue this afternoon. There were a lot of people viewing the lights in Dyker Heights.
An Uber driver’s car (called a taxi by the news) was struck by another car. The Uber driver’s car then hit into a parked car. One person died – two people (the Uber driver and the other passenger) were injured and are in stable condition. (source)
Helen Malinowski, an 89-year old woman was taken to Lutheran Hospital, but passed on. She was a passenger in the backseat of the Uber car (with another 79 year old woman). May she rest in peace – prayers for her family.
The taxi driver, Marlene Romero, 42 was went to the hospital and then was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle because she was driving with a suspended license. The police did not say Romero was responsible for the crash. (source) The driver that hit the taxi stayed at the scene, but was not arrested.
Prayers for all those involved.
I saw this website with information and wanted to link here because this is very well thought out.
