Pier 69 Market Opens in Bay Ridge

Welcome to Bay Ridge, Pier 69 Market. There used to be a coffee shop at  10 – 69th Street, but now there are new owners and they made this place very charming!

I heard Pier 69 Market had good coffee. I went and tried it. Their coffee is FANTASTIC….and I am kinda picky about coffee.

Even the cup is amazing…..the dark section on the cup makes it easy to grip and you don’t feel any heat through it.

If you can’t figure out where this it, Pier 69 Market is on 69th Street (Bay Ridge Avenue) between Shore Road and Narrows Avenue. It’s steps away from the 69th Street Pier and the entrance to the Shore Road bike path. It’s also next to the cute doggy daycare.

Residents who catch the ferry at the Pier are going to love this place!

I can see it easily becoming a great place for Ridgites to hang out and drink hot coffee/cocoa in the Winter and to cool off with an iced coffee or ice cream in the Summer!

Pier 69 Market is open Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.  I didn’t notice the weekend hours, but you can call them at their charming number 718-777-6969. Yes, they have wifi.

I love the old sign over the refrigerators.

It’s a regular market and sells an assortment of drinks…..

……….and food too.

In the refrigerated section, I found these pickles.  They are very good (if you like wasabi – which we do).

They also had a nice selection of baked items in the counter refrigerator.

Beautiful tables. It can seat about 15 – 20 people – maybe more when it gets busy!

Congratulations to the new owners. They made a beautiful coffee shop and store in Bay Ridge! Many years of success!!

Where Can I See Fireworks on New Year’s Eve?

Best Place to See Fireworks in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on New Years Eve

In Brooklyn, you can see fireworks for the new year at:

  • Coney Island or anywhere around Coney Island. Yes, Coney Island is busy, but the countdown is worth seeing. This year they are having a huge celebration in Coney Island and free activities start at 6:00 pm.   Just don’t be a rush to leave because it’s crazy during that time. Chill and go have a drink at one of the new places.

  • Prospect Parkhas some fireworks at 12:00 it’s okay – a lot of families go to this.  A lot of people go for dinner in Park Slope and then head to Grand Army  Plaza around 11 pm.  They give out hot chocolate around 11:00 or 11:30 pm.

  • Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge at midnight and you will see the Macy’s Fireworks.   There are organized walks for tourists, but NY’ers don’t need someone talking them around the city.

Shinobi Ninja Sticker Jerk

In Brooklyn, the weak place stickers on street poles.

If you are going to tag, then do it right. Take out some spray paint and put your name. If you are just going to be a nerd at the computer printing some fonts on sticker paper, stay home and put them on your mamma’s wall.
