Garguillo’s Cancelled the NRA Event in Brooklyn

Garguillo’s a well known and loved restaurant was holding an event for The Friends of the NRA.

Brooklyn politicians and residents voiced their concerns about the gun raffle event.  Can you believe that it is legal in NY to have such an event?  SMH

I am glad to see Garuillo’s values their community and chose to cancel the event.

Senator Marty Golden Did Nothing…AGAIN!

Today Senator Golden had a chance to be a hero. Senator is a former NYPD officer and he could have helped passed legislationto make Brooklyn safer for children and for the NYPD, but he did nothing.

It’s two weeks after Parkland and the NY State Republicans don’t have any bills.  DO SOMETHING SENATOR GOLDEN!

Tomorrow, Marty will stand in front of his office and take pictures. A press release will be issued and the worst reporters in the area will print it.  Senator Golden will go home and think he has fooled Bay Ridge once again.  The following day, maybe he will write some more bills for the cigarette industry. Pay-to-Play.

Marty loves those lazy reporters. This is why nothing gets done in Brooklyn.

Doesn’t Senator Golden realize that Councilman Brannan is doing so many things and Golden isn’t doing anything?

Do you love LEGOS, building robotics, programming  and teamwork? Then join our new Brooklyn Robotics League by March 2nd.

The McKinley Park Robotics League will meet every Thursday from 3:30-5:00 PM starting March 8 through May 10.

The theme for this year is Nature’s Fury, and kids and teens (ages 9–17) will learn to use LEGO EV3 robotics while exploring STEM concepts and making new friends.

In partnership with NYC First, BPL will host weekly workshops leading up to the big competition on Saturday, June 23rd, at the Central Library.

To join a team by Friday, March 2nd, speak with a staff member.  At the CB10 Meeting, a representative from McKinley Library said every branch was going to have a robotics team that would compete against different branches. So if you aren’t near McKinley, speak to your librarian to find out if they have a team.

That Latin Spot is Opening in Bay Ridge

Salud Bklyn at 7204 – 3rd Avenue closed, but That Latin Spot is opening this week in it’s place (yes 7204 – 3rd Avenue).   There will be a soft opening on Friday March 2nd!

The menu isn’t large, but the food looks beautiful! Many years of success and happiness to the owners!  Right now it’s closed on Sundays, but I hope that changes as Sunday is a great day for families to get together at restaurants.
