March 17, 2025Swastikas Were Drawn on Dr. Gabriel’s Office on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge

Someone drew two swastikas on Dr. Gabriel’s Office that were seen on Sunday.
The one on the door was removed and a swastika on the ground was covered with a heart.

Strangely, it took Councilman Brannan and Senator Gounardes until Monday afternoon to speak out against the antisemitism and share the information with the public.

Senator Gounardes shared photos of himself walking in the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Monday morning. Then several hours later (after 2:00 pm) shared the information about the hate. See:
The politicians issued a dual message. Why is only one politician writing a message and not two? This isn’t a time to make a graphic with a politician’s name. Each politician should have written a message against the hate on Sunday.
Congress Representative Nicole Malliotakis was informed about the swastika on Monday. (Why didn’t the male politicians tell her and the Assembly representatives, so all who represent the area could speak out?)
Malliotakis issued a message against the hate and shared the photos with the community. See:
Strangely, Brannan and Gounardes’ message came after Malliotakis’. If she hadn’t written anything, would they have shared it?
In other instances of hate in Brooklyn, the news has reported right away, but I only found one story on Monday night:

March 17, 2025Jim Walden for Mayor – If You Want NYC to Have a Fresh Start

Photo: Bedford Knight
While the politicians divide up and endorse politicians who have failed this city and state, I’m liking Jim Walden.

Are we gonna stand for this? pic.twitter.com/17YVU64JyA
— Jim Walden (@jimfornyc) March 17, 2025
Walden’s priorities are safety, increasing the NYPD, securing Medicare for NYC Retirees and helping people with mental illness/homelessness. Jim Walden shared that his sister had mental illness and when he becomes mayor he would help get the people who need help off the streets. The men on the R train need Jim Walden to become mayor.
Walden is sharp, high energy and he has a lot of great ideas for NYC. Like everyone else, Jim Walden sees that NYC is suffering because of the corruption. We need a change!
Listen to him here:
New York needs better leadership and that’s why I decided to run. Check out my new interview with @NEWSMAX where we talk all about my race! pic.twitter.com/yOUeefmLdf

Jim Walden running as an independent – so he will be on the ballot in November.

March 17, 2025No Bay Ridge Businesses Are In the NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry

Many businesses in Bay Ridge have been operating for over a half a century.
In 2023 McGuire Realty celebrated 50 years in Bay Ridge.
Mike’s Donuts and The Indoor Outdoor Gardener on 5th Avenue have also celebrate 50 years of serving this community. See here:
I’m sure you can think of other businesses like The Bay Ridge Bakery and Mid-East Bakery who must be here around five decades.
Strangely, these businesses didn’t receive an induction invitation from Senator Andrew Gounardes to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry.
Sadly, the map looks like there is nothing historic in our area:

Instead Gounardes, recognized Tripoli Rest Restaurant at 156 Atlantic Avenue.

Businesses in this registry get a listing and a link to their site, which would bring history lovers to the area. Here’s what Tripoli Rest’s looks like:

Search the registry:
https://parks.ny.gov/historic-preservation/business-registry/default.aspx
Andrew Gounardes grew up in Bay Ridge? Why wouldn’t he help businesses in his own community? #PlayingPolitics as usual. By now, Gounardes should have added many businesses in this community to the registry.
Each elected official is allowed may nominate up to ten businesses (per term).
While other NYS Senators have been adding businesses for the last three years, Andrew Gounardes didn’t bother. :

Businesses can ask any elected state official, including the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and members of the Senate or Assembly to nominate them. Call Assemblyman Tannousis’ office at 7716 3rd Ave. 718-439-8090 or Assemblyman Alex Brook-Krasny’s 718-266-0267. They will help and they won’t play games.

March 16, 2025Adrienne Adams, Andrew Gounardes And The Coney Casino Were in A SuperPac Against Us

In 2023, Ari Kagan and Justin Brannan ran for the District 47 seat.

(Photo: The Point with Marcia Kramer)
A SuperPac called the Verrazzano Victory Alliance was formed to help Brannan.
It was purposely named to mislead Republicans in the area because it sounded like the name of a political group in Bay Ridge called: The Verrazzano Republicans Club. Info:
https://www.transparencyusa.org/ny/committee/verrazzano-victory-alliance-382369/payments
The NY Post shared that Jon Paul Lupo, the head of the SuperPac was a DeBlasio guy. See story:
See DeBlasio and Lupo photo:
The Verrazzano Victory’s website had the message below on their website until I shared it on X this week (then it disappeared).

Andrew Gounardes and Adrienne Adams were in kahoots with The Coney (Casino).

TSG Coney Island is the Casino.

You can see Justin Brannan and his staff members were lobbied by the casino.

Everyone in Bay Ridge knew since 2023 that Justin Brannan was lobbied by the casino. See here:
Grubhub and developers also contributed to the SuperPac. Our politicians shouldn’t be involved with developers AND OUR ELECTIONS.

Here’s how the Verrazzano Victory SuperPac spent the $87,000.00:

NYC Speaker Adrienne Adams doesn’t even live in Brooklyn, so why was she allowed to participate in our election? Now this woman wants to be Mayor of NYC after playing Brooklyn like this!
Andrew Gounardes should not have been allowed to use his state funds in this NYC election. Gounardes received matching funds on those donations, so technically our own tax dollars were used against us.
Worse than that….. Andrew Gounardes and Adrienne Adams will be the reason Coney Island is destroyed. And neither of them care because they don’t live there or represent that area. Politicians shouldn’t be able to #PlayPolitics like this.

This is not democracy. This is corruption. The casino had to invest in the community – not in a SuperPac for a politician.
