Mark Treyger’s Fake Outrage Over Pam Harris

Mark Treyger was given a direct question from Coney Island residents and instead of answering it, he went off on a tangent to talk about how people asked about Pam Harris’ education. Note to Mark: Pam Harris is gone and everyone is trying to move on from the mess you made with her.

Oh get ready for some bad acting. Treyger expressed fake outrage over people questioning Harris’ education. He was asked a direct question and he didn’t want to answer it.

The man asked him again because he thought Treyger didn’t understand him. “Did you take time out to vet a candidate from Coney Island?”  The resident is upset that someone from outside of the district is being asked to run. (I know how he feels because Treyger pushed a carpetbagger candidate in our district last November).  Now Mark Treyger is pushing Ethan Lustig Elgrably who used to work in his office.  

Treyger stated that no one asked about his education when he ran for office. Everyone knew Treyger was a teacher and his credentials were checked by the state so there was no reason for anyone to check. MARK TREYGER KNOWS THIS. 

Note to Mark Treyger:  Pam Harris  was charged with two counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, four counts of making false statements, two counts of bankruptcy fraud, one count of witness tampering and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice. SHE DID THAT ON HER OWN and some with your help as well (This is Treyger’s part:  Prosecutors say she applied for and misused $23,000 in funds from the City Council. Instead of spending it on children, she allegedly bought airplane and cruise tickets and paid off her Kohl’s and Victoria’s Secret retail accounts. (source)

It sounded like Treyger wanted to blame Bay Ridge residents for the Pam fiasco…Fraud had nothing to do with Bay Ridge!…..note to Treyger….no one is fooled by this – everyone knows you continued to fund Harris’ not-for-profit even after the news (and Pam) revealed the truth. Bay Ridge has nothing to do with you and Pam’s corruption except that Bay Ridge residents stood up against it (while Coney Island didn’t know because they didn’t read the papers). The FBI had to investigate because Mark Treyger failed to watch the money.

Mark Treyger needs to step down as Democratic District Leader because he is unable to support Democrats in the area who want to run and continues to bring unqualified friends to the area. He thinks the people don’t notice his stupid ploy for power.

Senator Golden Receives Petitions from Barkan

Senator Marty Golden loves making petitions and pretending that we are all involved in the process. SIGN THE PETITION he is always exclaiming and acting like it matters (it didn’t for the Verrazano Bridge toll,  for the release of the man who killed a cop, etc). 

WILL MARTY GOLDEN HONOR A PETITION HE RECEIVED? If he is always calling to petition others, when he receives a petition, shouldn’t he honor the request?

Yesterday, Ross Barkan and residents delivered over 800 signatures to the office of Marty Golden calling for a fully accessible subway system in Southern Brooklyn.

Barkan explained that we have twelve stations in the Senate District 22 (Golden’s zone)  and there is not a single elevator for residents.

Night at the Races – June 8th

The Bay Ridge Center is having a Night at the Races on June 8. 2018 starting at 5:00 pm.

All proceeds from the event go to benefit the Bay Ridge Center, which aims to combat hunger, isolation and depression among seniors in the community.

Fort Hamilton Military Base Calls ICE on Pizza Delivery Guy

If you are into deporting immigrants, don’t read the rest of this.  For Catholics, the Pope says we have a responsibility to help. There is a march tonight at 6:00 pm (info here).

On Friday afternoon, an employee at the  Fort Hamilton Army Base in Brooklyn ordered pasta from Nonna Delia’s Pizzeria in College Point, Queens 26 miles from the Army Base. This pizzaria is 30 minutes from the Ft. Hamilton Army Base. (This army base has so many local Italian Restaurants near it – How about ordering locally and supporting restaurants in the area?)

Pablo Villavicencio, 32, an Ecuadorian immigrant was the pizza delivery man. At the military base gate, Villavicencio showed a NYCID. Pablo had delivered to the base several times before and showed his NYCID identification card. He was also known by one of the employees.  Since the army base only accepts driver’s licenses, Pablo was forced to another area to check his ID. 

The army military base Visitor Control Center asked Pablo to fill our a form so they could do a background check (Pablos said he did not sign any documents for a background check).  The army base called the NYPD who told them that Pablo had a clean record. They  found an outstanding warrant for deportation and called ICE.  Pablo was detained on the base until ICE came and arrested him. The Fort Hamilton Army Base employees took the pasta that was ordered for a sergeant and was in Pablo Villavicencio’s car (Source)

ICE brought Pablo to a detention center in New Jersey and planned to deport him (UPDATE 6/9/18: Pablo was granted a stay until his hearing on July 20th. Hopefully, they can process his green card by then).

Pablo’s wife of five years, Sandra Chica is an American citizen. The couple from Belrose, Long Island have two young daughters.  They submitted documentation for  permanent US residence for Pablo, but these things take time! Councilman Menchaca said that Villavicencio has an active green card application and he deserves his freedom to live and work in peace while his application is pending.

Pablo’s wife said she doesn’t have relatives to help her with her daughters and is finding it difficult to fight the system to get her husband free. A Go Fund Me Page for Pablo has been set up here …..give $5.00 if you can to let Sandra know that she isn’t alone……there’s Bay Ridge names all over that list…..why? Because I have good neighbors who will help out someone who just got kicked by the system.

Do officers at the Fort Hamilton Army Base have the authority to question people about their citizenship and detain them for ICE ? President Trump said they were deporting the bad hombres (men).  Pablo is a father who is working to support his family and awaiting citizenship.   

Councilman Brannan informed the community of this situation. My neighbors responded with support and kindness…..cause everyone isn’t into deporting immigrants.

Update:  On Wednesday, Councilman Brannan and Borough President Eric Adams stood up for Pablo. 

In the evening, Bay Ridge for Social Justice demonstrators marched from the Fort Hamilton Army Base to 86th Street and chanted, “Free, free Pablo.”  Seven protesters were arrested for forming a chain in the street.  

Governor Cuomo called to get Pablo an attorney and also urged the Department of Homeland Security to launch an internal investigation.

Restaurants in Bay Ridge said they aren’t going to deliver to the army base.

Possible Jumper from Verrazano – June 5, 2018

A person attempted to jump from the bridge and was saved this evening. Thank God for all the emergency responders who helped this person. 

NYC needs to put up a net around the Verrazano Bridge – it will deter jumpers, save lives and save hours of time/resources. The topic has come up everytime someone jumps and it is never taken seriously.
