Bay Ridge Honda – Not Good

Yes, the Honda Dealership at 8801 4th Avenue

Don’t car dealership make mega money? Did they really need to do this to non-speaking residents? As someone who lives in Bay Ridge and likes Honda vehicles, I won’t shop at Bay Ridge Honda because I don’t support companies that do this to Brooklynites.

There’s plenty of other Honda dealerships around..Plaza Honda is at 2722 Nostrand Avenue (actually this street has so many dealerships) and Honda of Staten Island is at: 1232 Hylan Blvd.

A.G. Underwood Announces Settlement With Brooklyn Auto Dealer Over Deceptive Practices That Targeted Non-English Speakers.

“Following Investigation Into Reports of Unwanted Charges, Fraudulent Sales Tactics, and Other Deceptive Practices That Mostly Targeted Chinese-Speaking New Yorkers, Bay Ridge Honda Will Reform Practices and Pay Over $423,000 in Restitution and Penalties.”

Were the employees doing this fired? Update: The two employees were removed from the company.  If you want an honest deal here see Hank or Robert S. here.

Honda made a big mistake here because I know many Asians will avoid this place because they know what has happened here.  Personally, I think Honda needs to make a statement and renew their commitment to the community (match other dealerships, etc.) Eventually, we will all bid for new car deals online, so they might as well start now.

Brannan Calls for Brooklyn VA to Stay Open

I hadn’t heard the rumors that the Brooklyn Veteran’s Hospital was considering closing. Councilman Justin Brannan issued a strong letter explaining why the the hospital should remain open for Veterans.

Click here to see letter larger

I could understand why they would close the VA Hospital – it’s on a real JUICY piece of property. It’s huge!  The Veteran’s should hold on to it because the hospital has a parking lot and that makes it easy for patients and their visitors to park and get into the hospital easily. These men and women served our country and should have easy access to medical care. It’s absurd to plan for them to go to Manhattan when this place is always very busy. Great call by Councilman Brannan!

Greedy developers must be offering top dollar and incentives towards those who are in charge (not at the hospital, but higher up). Money can move mountains (and close hospitals too).

Senator Golden didn’t speak out on this, yet he was skydiving to support veteran’s in Staten Island (seen here). Does he know he is the State Senator for Bay Ridge?
