Reaching Out Community Services is a very well run food pantry and the people who work there are kind to the people who visit it. They are having a Back to School Drive. Staples and other stores are having Back to School Deals where paper and other supplies is very inexpensive.

July 14, 2018Tatted-Up Rapist in Sunset Park
Update: Oooooooh THE NYPD GOT HIM!
The man in the video is wanted for rape.
Police said the man knocked on the door of the 34-year-old victim’s apartment near the corner of 52nd Street and 7th Avenue in Sunset Park around 1:00 am. He pushed his way in, showed her a gun and forced her into the bedroom.
After raping her, he demanded cash. The victim complied and gave him $500 before he tied her arms with a sweater and ran away.
The victim freed herself and called police.
The man is described as being in his 30’s and 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. Someone has to know him by the tattoos on his left arm!!
He was carrying a messenger bag at the time of the incident.

Yesterday, Chris McCreight announced he wouldn’t be running for Assembly. He’s was a Bay Ridge favorite because he has spoken out against corruption for years.
After McCreight’s announcement, Bob Capano gave Steve Saperstein the Reform Party’s endorsement.
Usually candidates make a gracious statement to share the endorsement and an expression of thanks to the Chairperson of a political party.
Saperstein told Bob to get to work. LOL.

July 13, 2018Nicole Malliotakis Lied to Channel 1 News
Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis lied to Channel 1 News. Reporter, Jeanine Ramirez shared that Nicole Malliotakis “blocked constituents on social media because constituents used profanity or abusive language.”
I have never used profanity on social media.
In 2014, Nicole Malliotakis blocked me on Twitter after I pointed out that she had taken credit in a local paper for another Assemblywoman’s work (see tweet below). I blogged about it here.
At the time, I called Assemblywoman Malliotakis’ office and she didn’t call me back. Even her staffer, Paul Marrone, felt bad when I called back to confirm Malliotakis received my call. The tweets are dated so people can see this.
Nicole Malliotakis didn’t want to be challenged on her practice of press release politics, so she blocked me on Twitter. She also deleted her tweets to me. Other residents who challenged Malliotakis when she ran for Mayor were also blocked – they didn’t use foul language either.
This year, after blogging about Malliotakis’ lack of involvement in Bay Ridge, Malliotakis’ representative at Community Board 10 Meetings in Bay Ridge accused me of bullying in retaliation. LOL…. I can’t help it that Malliotakis doesn’t do much here.
Malliotakis’ representative didn’t understand that blogging sites allow someone to set the date/time for when writing is published. He believed I was writing the blog while I was at work. I tried explaining how WordPress works, but he couldn’t understand/didn’t want to believe he was wrong.
I blocked him and weeks later, he wrote to me under another account. Assemblywoman Malliotakis did not step in or apologize for her representative’s outbursts on her behalf.
I’m not sure why he continued to visit my blog, as her upstate office seems to have taken care of that (see log below):
Although I didn’t sign the petition, I thank Fight Back Bay Ridge and other groups for holding politicians accountable in this community.

July 13, 2018Senator Golden Lied to Jeanine Ramirez
Jeanine Ramirez, a reporter for Channel 1 News did a story about Senator Golden.
Senator Golden told Jeanine Ramirez that he blocked people on social media because they used profanity. I was blocked because I complained about Senator Golden’s staffer not doing his job. Now you may think Senator Golden didn’t know about this, but he certainly did because I called Albany and spoke to his Chief of Staff. Senator Golden never called me back to apologize or offer his assistance to me.
I have never used profanity on social media and that anyone can check.
I blogged about my experience calling Senator Golden’s office about an issue because I knew that I couldn’t be the only one this happened to. Senator Golden’s staffer isn’t a good guy and didn’t follow up on the problem. Each time I called the office, he would not be available or call me back. He sent me e-mail saying he was checking on it, but nothing happened. When I e-mailed to check in about the problem, he didn’t know who I was and acted as if it was the first time calling.
I contacted another office outside of this area and within two weeks the problem was solved.
When this same staffer ran for office and people disagreed with him, he blocked them and they made a hashtag #JQBlockParty because so many people were being blocked – you can see it here. There was no profanity there either, he simply didn’t want people to disagree with him – even a local reporter was blocked because she was doing her job – reporting the news.
For years, through my husband’s account we have seen people complain on Senator Golden’s Facebook page and within a day or two, the post of completely deleted. The person is probably blocked and can’t make any future post. These residents were blocked:
That’s three people who haven’t used profanity and Senator Golden blocked them.

Senator Golden has been inappropriate on social media and he uses it poorly and allows racism an audience in this community (rather than denouncing it).

July 12, 2018Drunk Driver Caused Belt Parkway Accident
Yesterday morning. Aleh Sheipak, a 50-year-old Brooklyn man drove onto the Belt Parkway. The news reported that he had a blood-alcohol level of .21 percent (which they noted was nearly three times the legal limit).
Shipak drove his 2011 Volkswagon SUV on the wrong side on the Belt Parkway (eastbound in the westbound lane) and hit a Honda sedan. The Honda was being used as an Uber vehicle. (Seen below)

Twenty-seven year old, Gerald Obah was in the backseat of the the Uber and died. He was taking the Uber from the airport to his apartment on 34th Street in Manhattan. Obah had been in California. This man had his whole life ahead of him and it was ripped away from him by someone who didn’t care. Here’s words from one of Obah’s friends. RIP Gerald Obah. Prayers for his family and friends who must be devastated by this news.
Sheipak was arrested and charged with manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault, DWI and DWAI. The Uber driver and other passenger were taken to the hospital. More info here.
