Ethan Lustig is Funded by Money from the IDC

Yesterday, I shared about the money Ethan Lustig-Elgrably is receiving from politician’s accounts (not their personal accounts). Ethan is running for South Brooklyn’s empty Assembly Seat.

I noticed that Nancy Tong’s donation was quite a bit later and a lot smaller than Charlie Ragusa’s donations.

I remembered Nancy Tong’s City Council account had a zero balance. Where did Tong get the money from and why did she wait to contribute? Ohhhh as a District Leader she has a NYS account. I thought she only had the NYC account.

I hit the campaign fiance account of Diane Savino.  She’s spending money like it’s water. There are huge credit card payments – one for $7892…….why don’t journalist write about this? Look:

Campaign Finance tells us so much!  Look at this:

Diane Savino gave Ethan the maximum – $4,400.00 

Diane Savino gave Charles Ragusa $1,300.00

Charlie Ragusa donated that exact amount $1,300.00 to Ethan Lustig-Elgrably (first $1000 and $300 less than two weeks later)

Diane Savino donated $1300 Nancy Tong.  Tong made a small contribution to Ethan, but didn’t give him all the money she received from Saving because she had to get Popeyes for volunteers. 

Nancy Tong gave Ari Kagan $100 (Ari Kagan gave Ethan $150).

Ethan Lustig-Elgrably’s campaign is being funded by IDC contributions from Senator Savino’s account. Savino attended a fundraiser for the IDC in April after Cuomo said the IDC was over. Savio was caught on video. 

Diane Savino knows the limit is $4,400.00 (page 13).

Diane Savino has also been funding the United Progressive Democratic Club in Coney Island. That’s  Mark Treyger’s club which is also pushing Ethan Lustig Elgranbly.  Are they really Progressives if they are accepting money from an IDC candidate and endorsing Savino over and over?

These pols think they are SO CLEVER…..they have been doing this for years to Coney Island. 

Let’s look at Mark Treyger’s District Leader account – yes, Mark Treyger has a state account. Interestingly, Cozen O’Connor was on Treyger’s January report for a $500 contribution and also listed as a PAC on Ethan’s account here – also receiving $500.00.  Most people wouldn’t think to look at Treyger’s state account because he is a NYC Councilman and has a city campaign finance account.

Oh we have only gotten started here.

Movie Night in Bay Ridge – July 27, 2018

The movie, Vertigo will be shown on Shore Road and 71st Street on July 27th at 8:45 pm. Rated PG. (It’s also the 5th Avenue Shindig – aka Summer Stroll on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge)

Vertigo is an Alfred Hitchcock classic. A San Francisco detective suffering from acrophobia (fear of heights) investigates the strange activities of an old friend’s wife, all the while becoming dangerously obsessed with her. 

Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the movie in this beautiful park!

Free Wizard School in Bklyn 7/28

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to come participate in the Wizard School Experience at Brooklyn Public Library 10 Grand Army Plaza. The library has been magically transformed for this special event. You will be sorted into a House and take classes with your House Mates. Lessons may include such topics as Herbology, Divination, and Caring for Cryptids (magical creatures)!
BPL Librarians are teaming up with The Group That Shall Not Be Named – The NYC Harry Potter Meetup to bring kids 6-12 an amazing opportunity to have a taste of what Wizard School might be like.
Our magical lessons will run from 1pm – 4pm and we strongly recommend students go through the whole event.
Attending in costume is encouraged, but not required.

Ethan Lustig-Elgrably – The Ridiculous Reason Eric Adams Endorsed Him

We wrote to Borough President Eric Adams to find out why he endorsed Ethan Lustig-Elgrably over a proven leader in Brooklyn.

Residents think endorsements are done carefully. Just because someone asks for an endorsement, doesn’t mean they should receive an endorsement, especially not over a more qualified candidate.  Dr. Frontus was not interviewed by Eric Adams. I am surprised Eric Adams didn’t advocate for Brooklyn and choose the most qualified candidate.

Does Eric Adams know Dr. Frontus?  In 2009, Eric Adams was a State Senator and Chairman of the Veteran’s Committee. Dr. Frontus started the first veterans program in Coney Island and Eric Adams went out to see the program multiple times (See here). Eric Adams knows Dr. Frontus is a leader and community activist in Coney Island. 

Ethan Lustig-Elgraby doesn’t come close to Dr. Frontus’ accomplishments. Lustig-Elgraby was a paid staffer in Mark Treyger’s office. He remained silent while money continued to be thrown at Harris. He no longer works for Mark Treyger and hasn’t done anything in the area. Ethan moved to the area in 2016. Kadia Goba wrote:  It is rumored that the former staffer moved to Coney Island to be eligible to run for Treyger’s term-limited council seat in 2021.

If you look on Ethan’s website, he doesn’t have anything about his platform – just a list of endorsements. Who is Ethan representing – the people or the politicians? 

In 2011, Dr. Frontus received the Woman of Distinction Award from Diane Savino.

In 2014, Dr. Frontus received an award for her work.

In 2015, Dr. Frontus was honored for her efforts to revitalize Coney Island. 

In 2016, Dr. Frontus was honored as one of the 40 stars under 40.   

In 2018, Moms Demand Action chose Mathylde as their candidate over Ethan. Why?  Mathylde founded the Coney Island Anti-Violence Collaborative in 2013. (Andrew Gounardes also received the endorsement from Moms Demand Action).

Dr. Frontus is a long-time resident who wants to represent Brooklyn.  Her campaign is funded by residents. 

Whose funding Ethan’s campaign? Ethan gave his campaign $10K and he has out-of-district contributions. Machine politicians gave Ethan Lustig-Elgrably’s campaign money from their political accounts – not their personal accounts. That’s why it says “Friends of”  before their name in the screenshot below (or “Savino 2018”).   

Savino 2018 – that’s Senator Diane Savino of the IDC.  Savino is a Democrat who votes with the Republicans. The IDC gives the Republicans in the State Senate power. Senator Savino has a special interest in this assembly position. Why? When a bill is introduced, it needs one senator and one assembly member to introduce it in each of the houses. The IDC claimed that they disbanded, but Diane Savino was seen at a fundraiser for the IDC in April 2018.

Mathylde Frontus is very down-to-earth and well-spoken. The interviewer noted that she didn’t have notes in front of her during this interview.  Listen to her here   (move to 34:00 minutes if you just have a minute to spare).
