The Brooklyn Conservative Party got a new website now that Jerry Kassar’s no longer in charge.

It appears that Fran is gone too as there are new names on the site.

Have these new players taken over the Brooklyn Conservative Party?
Maybe the new group won’t like backroom deals, placeholder candidates and pols who take money from developers.

Hateful Graffiti at Shore Road Park in Bay Ridge

Hateful graffiti was found on a storage container in Shore Road Park and 75th Street. The container holds Xaverian High School sports equipment.

Councilman Brannan called out the hate and said it will not be ignored or tolerated here:

Congressman Max Rose:
Senator Gounardes told residents that he was reaching out the 68th Precinct about it.
The graffiti has been painted over.

Petland Discounts at 8403 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge is closing. All items in the store are buy one, get one half off. Small pets (like fish) are also on sale.

The owner of Petland Discounts franchise died in January and his daugher is closing all stores in NY, NJ and Connecticut by mid-April. See here.

Double Parked Cars Outside Positano Because the Food is Great!

Positano Restaurant in Bay Ridge – the food is really good. Hence, people want to go there for dinner. Residents drive to get there because they don’t live around the block and it’s cold out.

News 12 came down to film because people complained that there were so many cars. See story.

A lot of double-parked cars outside of a restaurant means the food is amazing!
If the double-parked cars are a problem, you could take Uber there and then call Uber to pick you up.

NYPD Catch Suffolk Car Thieves in Bay Ridge

Around 2:00 am this morning, helicopter were flying overhead searching for people for a long time around 97th and 98th Street in Bay Ridge.

Neighbors saw the the NYPD with their guns drawn and jumping over fences with flashlights.
Adam Balhetchet of LoudLabs (video above) wrote this: “Four perps were arrested following a vehicle pursuit. At 2:08 at 91st Street & 3rd Avenue, police reported they were following and in pursuit of a white Toyota Camry with four occupants inside.
The four were wanted for stealing a car from Suffolk County, Long Island. The perps at some point fled the vehicle and ran. Officers arrested three of the four perps.
Aviation was requested to canvass the area for the last outstanding perp. They reported there was a person crouching in the backyard of 138 98th St. Plain clothes anti-crime officers quickly found the hidden perp and arrested him without incident.

Senator Gounardes’ Booyah Bill

Our local papers mostly follow the silly stories happening on social media from an event three weeks ago.

The real news this week is Senator Gounardes’ Booyah Bill…..it’s not actually called the Booyah Bill, but everyone who reads it will understand – take a look at the bill here.

Senator Gounardes means business in putting an end to corruption in government.
