150 Relics Coming to OLG on March 26th

I am not into relics, but I know a lot of people are. When 150 come to a church, that’s pretty big news!

Mark Treyger Don’t Pretend You Support Women

See tweet here

Mark Treyger is speaking about strong women as if he supported strong women. He didn’t.

#1  Mark Treyger did not support a strong woman leader in the last election. I warned him to stay out of our election, but he couldn’t help himself.   Mark actually put his friend up against “the people’s candidate” – the strong woman. This election showed Mark that he doesn’t have the backing he thinks he does.

In the prior election, Treyger supported the corrupt Pam Harris, even after Harris admitted the truth to newspapers, Treyger pushed her election with Melissa Mark Viverito.  Treyger threw money at Harris’ not-for-profit AFTER knowing what we all knew.  As Harris plead guilty, Treyger was pointing the finger all over the place.

#2  Mark Treyger did not stand up against the IDC with most Democrats this past Fall. In fact, his area is the only one that has the remaining IDC Senator. Senator Savino funded Ethan Lustig’s campaign, Mark’s candidate.

#3 Treyger should not speak about developers, real estate or REBYNY.  He’s been in  office a long time and can’t rely on the: “they guy before me did this….”

Yes this is March and it’s women’s history month…it’s not April Fools Day.

Politicians & Residents Show Support for Muslims in Bay Ridge After New Zealand Shooting

Thank you to Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus and Senator Andrew Gounardes for standing at the mosque on Friday night.  After the shooting in New Zealand, Muslims are worried about being able to worship.

While you may think this is normal and politicians always do this, we have not seen state politicians support the Muslim community well since we have lived in Bay Ridge (almost 10 years).

Councilman Brannan’s voice has been consistent from before he took office. I love that he went to the mosque on Friday afternoon to let residents know that they have his support!

Brannan is always one of the first voices heard in our community and his message is loud and clear. Brannan doesn’t waver.

The Bay Ridge Community was filled with messages of support:

Such a kind person and sweet gesture.

If  your presence isn’t here with our community, it’s noted  (it was overlooked in the past). Why? Because there are people who want to do this job and support everyone in the community. And there are enough people watching now to say that this is not okay.

Nicole Malliotakis is remiss in mentioning the New Zealand shooting on social media as well.

If something so atrocious happened in Greece, Malliotakis would have!

Nicole Malliotakis is actively posting on both Twitter and Facebook for her fundraiser  for the 2020 election.

The 68th Precinct’s Message is Clear in Bay Ridge

After the New Zealand shooting at the mosque, the 68th Precinct made their presence known at the mosque in Bay Ridge. People should feel safe when they are at a place of worship.

This Captain is doing things a little differently and we appreciate that.

We applaud the 68th Precinct’s social media post supporting the community. I mention this because this is different than we have seen in the past.

In the past, we have seen police cars outside of the mosque, but we have not seen the NYPD communicate to the Muslim community that they are there…..and we have not seen the Captain of the NYPD stand with members of the mosque.

And yes….both things matter to residents here.

72nd Street Little Free Library in Bay Ridge

We drove by it last night and I was positive I saw a Little Free Library, but I didn’t have time to stop and look at it. It’s outside of 550 – 72nd Street in Bay Ridge and you can see m0re pictures online here.

The details on this box…..it’s beautiful

This is such a kind gestures that one neighbor did for the community. If you haven’t heard of the Little Free Libraries before, someone builds a box and puts it outside of their house so that people can take books (and other people can bring/donate books). I am glad to see residents are replenishing the library too.

Great message on the side. Even the back is beautiful.

Neighbors appreciate the Little Free Library as they leave notes and balloons at Valentine’s Day (so cute).

Thank you to our neighbors who took the time to make this beautiful box, encourage reading and build our community….you make Bay Ridge feel like Bay Ridge.

James from Kenos Brought the Shore Road Racoon to Keno’s Santuary

Today, James from Kenos was called out to Bay Ridge because there was a racoon on the bike path. A lot of people were scared of the racoon and worried that it was going to bite a child.

The racoon was large and didn’t fit in the carrier. See videohere

A few years ago, I saw a documentary about James Guiliani. He’s a man who really loves animals and is taking good care of a lot of dogs and various other animals.

This is a clip from that video: The DogFather

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis is Silent in Bay Ridge After the New Zealand Shooting

Paula Katinas, writer for the Brooklyn Eagle paper loves to write about Nicole Malliotakis.  Yet she didn’t this week.

Instead Katinas turned to Borough President Eric Adams for a comment. Does Paula Katinas not want Bay Ridge to realize that Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis was silent?

While political leaders in the area including Senator Gounardes, Assemblywoman Frontus and Councilman Brannan reached out to the Muslim Community in Bay Ridge, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis was Silent.

Nicole did not issue a statement on either Twitter or Facebook.  WHY?

Where is Nicole Malliotakis?
