Lateesa Posey is at Devito Alvarado

If you went to Lateesa Posey, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at GP (Gabriel Pediatrics) in Bay Ridge, in June she will be full-time at Devito Alvarado.  718-833-3636

It’s so hard to start with someone new, especially when you are comfortable with someone and really love how easy it is to communicate with them.

Best Brunch in Bay Ridge

Everyone loves brunch in Bay Ridge. The best restaurants for brunch in Bay Ridge are:

  • Cebu 88th and 3rd – Casual – they have brunch everyday – great french toast….okay pancakes. Everyone loves this place!

  • Wicked Monk – 3rd Avenue and 95th Street. They now have a party room so if you are having a birthday, you can request it. The food and service is always great here.

  • My newest favorite place: South Brooklyn Foundry 6903 – 3rd Avenue. Although those drinks are outside, they do not have outside seating. They do have good music, food and service.

  • Blue Agave 7215 – 3rd Avenue – Have brunch on the patio – it was so good and fun!  Menu   See their Facebook page

  • We just tried the brunch at Fushimi which includes a great drink, appetizer (I had the tuna, but the shrimp salad was great and crab was good but it had a thick batter on it)  and entree for $18.  I went with a group of friends and everyone tried different things which looked amazing and tasted good too.

  • Greenhouse Cafe    Good for occasions (2 seatings – 11am or 12pm)  77th and 3rd Ave   bottomless drinks. This is a classic place to take your Mom, Aunt and grandmother.

  • Hom – 88th and 3rd Avenue  OMG delicious food – pancakes are amazing. Make a reservation as this place fills up – very trendy

  • Kettle Black – pay $10 extra for unlimited drinks for an hour

  • Campania

  • Skinflints – 79th and 5th Avenue – eggs benedict.

  • Omonia

Bottomless Brunch

  • Greenhouse Cafe  $26
  • Lobo Loco – I haven’t been there for brunch.
  • Fushimi sushi/fish dishes – very fresh
  • Kettle Black – $10 bucks extra for unlimited drinks for an hour.

Good for Large Groups Brunch

  • Greenhouse Cafe is large  $26
  • Cebu has seating indoors and outdoors
  • Wicked Monk – good for a small party (reserve the table in the back)

Outside of Bay Ridge brunch spots in Brooklyn:

Scottadito Osteria Toscana   788A Union Street – unlimited mimosas included with meal $20 (make reservation – it’s the best deal around and everyone goes here)

Soigné in park slope (12th Street – 6th Avenue) has an amazing brunch if you don’t mind the ride.

The Spot 417 Prospect Place – Prospect Heights has a great brunch as well! Stone Park Cafe – 324 – 5th Avenue – oh soooo good!  see menu

Elia’s is having Mother’s Day lunch – 8611 3rd Avenue (Greek Food) See menu  (they usually don’t do brunch)
Tanoreen on 75th and 3rd has lunch (delicious Middle Eastern Food) – no brunch menu.

Does Nicole Malliotakis Think Bay Ridge Republicans Don’t Care About 9/11 First Responders?

Nicole Malliotakis is bringing a Texas Congressman, who refused to support the Victim’s Compensation Fund for NYC first responders on 9/11 to the Salty Dog in Bay Ridge.  I can’t imagine firefighters or the NYPD  being okay with that. Salty Dog’s owner probably doesn’t know Malliotakis is bringing this guy there.

Update: Bay Ridge resident, Mike DeCillis, a former EMT and first responder spoke out:

Mike DeCillis

Does Nicole think Republicans in Bay Ridge are stupid? Why wouldn’t she bring Crenshaw to Staten Island, where most of her supporters are?

First responders absolutely need to be taken care of if they worked in a location which made them sick. Many first responders are finding out about serious – even deadly illnesses years later, like 51-year-old NYPD detective Lisa Rosado.

I’m glad we can see online which Republicans in Bay Ridge are donating money and funding Malliotakis.

“Crenshaw has co-sponsored 41 pieces of legislation so far in his freshman term, and most have not cleared committee. He do-si-doed around that issue too.” (Daily News) Crenshaw is in Texas, so he doesn’t care about NY’ers.

Here’s the big question: Whose funding Crenshaw’s trip here? That’s more money than Nicole will raise in the evening. Why not just give that money to Nicole?  I think they know Malliotakis can’t win the seat. Rose is a well-liked Congressman and a war hero. The only one who could beat him would be another war hero (with a clean background).

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis only comes to Bay Ridge for photo-cops these days (parades, award ceremonies, etc.)  Bay Ridge has not seen her work in this community for a long time. Although Malliotakis has paid staff members who are supposed to do community; outreach; they don’t even attend the Community Board 10 meetings in Bay Ridge.  (See here)

Malliotakis hasn’t had an office in Brooklyn for four months, so we know she isn’t accessible to residents in Bay Ridge. Yet, the absent politician still claims to have an office in Bay Ridge on her website (see above).  Malliotakis hasn’t updated her site or even rented a desk and given residents time that she can meet with them. She knew since November when Golden was voted out that she would need to make alternative plans.

We have not see Malliotakis hold a Town Hall or any type of meeting at all here.  Even recent legislation for Brooklyn residents to get a bridge discount, Malliotakis did not sponsor.
