On June 2nd at St. Pat’s from 5:00 – 9:00 pm there will be a fashion show with little bites, dessert and coffee. Raffles and 50/50.

May 21, 2019Film Screening in Bay Ridge 5/23
On Thursday, May 23rd from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, the Department of Sanitation will be a showing the film, “Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story.” Register here
This movie will be shown at the Department of Sanitation’s new space which is at 8511 5th Avenue – the old American Greeting store. (Apparently the Department of Sanitation has money to burn). This place has been setup to teach about organic recycling.

May 20, 2019Shore Road Speedway – 68th Precinct is Needed
During the Community Board 10 Meeting, residents on Shore Road and 69th Street (near the Pier) complained about about Shore Road being used as a Speedway / Raceway between 10:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Residents are asking for the NYPD to monitor the area and put a stop to the roaring cars and speeding (both in the day and night). Four residents had their cars damaged by those who are racing.
Doris, the head of Community Board 10 said that 86th Street and Dyker Heights is also experiencing this problem.

They will be opening in a few weeks and serving Spanish food.

If you need a candle for a year (usually after someone passes), Saint Athanasius has them. They start the year on St. Anthony Day – June 13th.
Other churches should have these, but this blog has been contacted over a dozen times because people seeking them can’t find them in their parish.

Just heard the news of Joe’s passing.
RIP. Joe went with God.
Joe was a retired NYPD Captain and a man who loved his family and community.
Joe’s wake is on Thursday, May 23rd from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm at McLaughlin Funeral Parlor at 9620 3rd Avenue.
There is a 9:30 am mass on Friday at St. Pats – 4th Avenue and 95th Street in Bay Ridge.
