Man Stabbed in Bay Ridge – 5th Avenue & 78th St

 Loudlabs Video

Two men were slashed with broken bottles this afternoon near 7820 – 5th Avenue.

One man was stabbed with a bottle in his stomach and that appeared on the Citizen app (above screenshot). The other was stabbed in the arm.

Several blocks on 5th Avenue were taped off by police.

Loudlabs shared this: Police are looking for the man that stabbed a man with a knife in the arm. It happened around 5 pm on Monday at 78th St & 5th Ave, within the confines of the 68th Precinct. The perp was not known to the victim, which makes this possibly a random assault. The perp: male Arab, clean shaven wearing green shirt & yellow pants fled westbound on 78th Street towards 4th Avenue.

7/17 Update from NYPD – the suspect:

I was really wondering how he was carrying off yellow pants.

Hopefully, the 68th Precinct will catch him.

What’s Next? Override the Placard?

The Post had this story yesterday. Update: Another story

All this talk about “placard abuse” is just rhetoric.

That’s why very few things get done or improve…it’s all just words and photos to make us think things are getting done.  It doesn’t matter which group is in control – it’s all the same.

Look at the date on the Tweet

They have wasted a lot of time talking about this topic, but there really is no punishment other than losing the placard.

Streetsblog, usually loves to talk about placards  was silent. They LOVE tweeting about Placard Abuse (see all of their tweets here), but not a peep or even a retweet of the article.

That means they only want to talk about some placards. Are they silent when it involves their friends? Hey Bay Ridge Override!

Transalt is another bike group.  They produced this report about placards. Today they were silent about placard story too (no tweets or retweets of the Post story).

Not one local paper shared the story. Who owns the news? I waited until late today to write this because the local papers are all owned by the same company. Now we know who owns them.

The Bay Ridge “Override” Councilman won’t be able to talk about placards anymore. No one is buying that “he was pissed” (see The Post Story)….if that was the case….either Brannan doesn’t know his staff well or he’s been played.

Eagle Article About $25 Million Dollar School Returns

An article explaining the sale of Nathan’s for 25 million dollars appeared on July 12th. Then the article disappeared today.  It later appeared today here

Some items were removed. Some new things were added.

The article really stressed how the middle man made a lot of money on the sale.

The part below in red is missing from the new version. The anonymous person quote is missing.

Brannan’s quote (in the red box below) changed from the original article. That wasn’t mentioned in the new article’s explanation (at the bottom of the article here

ICE was in Sunset Park Today

ICE was on 56th Street and 5th Avenue today looking to arrest someone.  No one was home so they weren’t able to arrest anyone.  Story here Journalist, Noah Goldberg from the Eagle reported there was another attempt at a home with seven people.  See here.  WSJ wrote that the agents were rejected by people because they didn’t have warrants. See here

Senator Zellnor Myrie appeared to be supportive:

Ed Mullins letter to the NYPD was shared online:

This has got to be hard for those really nice cops (yes, they exist).

It’s a sad time in our country. While people should be entering the country legally (yes, everyone understands this), arresting people who have been here for ten or fifteen years and deporting them doesn’t seem to serve a purpose. Who will provide for their children?  (See video

You can believe what you want about immigrants….but when kids are involved it’s different. They didn’t shouldn’t be a part of any of this. Some people understand this better than others –  See here
