Aleh Sheipak Only Got 7 to 21 Years for Killing a 27 Year Old Man
Last July, Aleh Sheipak, a 50-year-old Brooklyn man drove onto the Belt Parkway drunk (which the news noted was nearly three times the legal limit). Story here
Shipak drove his 2011 Volkswagon SUV on the wrong side on the Belt Parkway (eastbound in the westbound lane) and hit a Honda sedan. The Honda was being used as an Uber vehicle. (Seen below)
Twenty-seven year old, Gerald Obah was in the backseat of the the Uber and died.
Sheipak may spend only seven years for taking his life. See here

Manhole Cover Exploded in Bay Ridge Today

There was a manhole explosion in Bay Ridge this morning. While people complained about the smell from the explosion, only one person reported losing electricity (which is great).
Con Edison closed the area around the triangle where 95th Street, Ridge Blvd & Marine Avenue meet.

A Spectrum commercial is being filmed at Owls Head Park and on the 69th Street Pier today. Pics here

They set up a fruit/vegetable stand at the park for the commercial.
Spectrum is a cable company that many people in the area have.

This was the old winner:

Until recently, Bay Ridge did not have a good fried chicken joint. There is a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Bay Ridge, but Lee doesn’t like it because it tastes “bready.”
The Bay Ridge Mini Market located at 8612 – 4th Avenue opened up a Krispy Krunchy Chicken inside their store. It was recommended to Lee and now it is his favorite fried chicken place in Bay Ridge. And they deliver 917-909-0579
Krispy Krunch chicken chicken (it’s not spicy) and fried shrimp too. The chicken comes with some sinfully delicious biscuits. It falls into the cheap eats category because for $7.39, you get 3 pieces of chicken a side, a biscuit and a drink.
Southern Fried Chicken platter from the Bay Ridge Dinner also ranks up there for my husband.

Mixx Boutique Opened on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge

Mixx Boutique opened at 8722 3rd Avenue, where Kaleidoscope Toy Store used to be.
It’s a beautiful storefront and a nice addition to the area.

This chihuahua went missing from 86th Street and 17th Avenue in Brooklyn today. He is a brown, neutered Male with a missing right eye.
He has a red collar. MicroChipped.

Protestors Meet Carranza in Bay Ridge

NYC Chancellor, Richard Carranza was at IS 30 at 7004 – 4th Avenue this week.
