Jerry Kassar and Brooklyn Elections
Jerry Kassar has been in the news a lot lately.
Kings County Politics questioned Jerry about whether Marty Golden will return to challenge Andrew Gounardes for the senate seat.
Marty’s moved on and is on television now. He doesn’t need the senate job anymore.
Why does Jerry keep pursuing the same people? In every election, he keeps running the same people, almost as if he wants them to lose. If he was a decent leader of a political party, he would choose a moderate who has a chance at winning.
There are other Conservatives in the area – run them.
Jerry told Kings County Politics: “Marty has not made a decision yet. We’ve been talking to him, and he’s not sure yet as he has a very good job with the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens.”

August 28, 2019Spanglish Eats Opens on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge
Sadly, Spanish Eats closed in the Fall of 2019.
Spanglish Eats opened at 6917 – 4th Avenue – across the street from Rite Aid Pharmacy.
They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 am – 7 pm Monday to Saturday. They also have free delivery. 718-833-3000 or 718-833-3004

I love the name of the place. They have seven different dishes each day.
If you were looking for a traditional Dominican breakfast of tres golpes – this is the place for it. (It’s above as: mangú with cheese, salami, and eggs. Mangu is crushed plantains, which are really good when they are made right.)
They also sell smoothies, juices and açaí bowls.
It’s not easy to open a business today. Good luck Nani!

August 28, 2019Bishop Kearney Faculty’s Tribute to Students
Mrs. LuAnn Caputo-Fabietti shared this video of the Kearney staff singing the school song one last time. LuAnn attended Kearney and taught there as well. She was amazing!
She wrote: “This ones for all those students who have touched each of our lives in such a special way! We love you all! Don’t be sad because it’s over.. smile because it happened.”
If you were part of the Bishop Kearney community, you know special the video is. It doesn’t surprise me that they would do this because they always did special things for their students.
If you didn’t hear, Bishop Kearney announced it was closing in May this year.

Theo Nazz is known for winning the Forged in Fire Televised Blade Forging Competition TWICE.
Nazz is also an amazing bladesmith who is now teaching classes at his new forge in Industry City.
Lee and I love Forged in Fire, so I gave Lee a class with Theo as a birthday gift. We had a great time. Lee’s is the larger knife here – mine is the smaller one. (It took many hours to make it) Nazz is a professional and has a gift for teaching. Lee loved going to Theo’s forge in Williamsburg!
Now Nazz’s Forge is in Industry City and you can make a sword, knife for your home or even a knife to cut your wedding cake.
