Friday, September 6th
1) Free Movie in Owls Head Park – Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom 7:30 – 9:30 pm.
2) The Fort Hamilton Army Base will have a Cigar and Whiskey Night on 9/6/19 from 6 pm – 8 pm at 207 Sterling Drive in Brooklyn Google Map Etched glass and Cigar Cutter provided by First Command. Limited amount. First come, first serve.
3) Xaverian High School is also having Cigar Night on the same night. Info here
Saturday, September 7th
1) Art in the Yard from 10 am to 1 pm at Union Church 7915 Ridge Blvd. All are invited, especially kids, to come out and use our art supplies as you choose, for a few minutes or as long as you like. Free.
2) Mid-Autumn Festival Drawing Contest for Children: 2-6 pm at Leif Ericson Park. Free.
3) Children’s Concert in Shore Road Park at 2:00 pm. (79th Street & Shore Road). Free
4) Audition for Elf (Narrows Community Theater) – see here
5) Rhapsody Players at St. Mary’s Church Hall 7:30 pm.
6) Movie in Bensonhurst Park: Secret Life of Pets 2 7:30 pm–9:30 pm Free.

September 6, 2019Redeemer St. John Church Takes on Hate
Redeemer St. John Church shared this picture:
It looks like Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis may actually be doing something in Bay Ridge! (It could just be another picture taking moment, but it doesn’t look like it).
Redeemer St. John Church had a presentation from the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force with Nicole Malliotakis about the rise of hate.
The church wrote this: “We will create a community task force to work and walk shoulder to shoulder with our sisters and brothers in the community.”
Now we had The Bay Ridge Breakfast Club which used to pretend it was a task force (Malliotakis was part of that), but maybe this will be a real task force that doesn’t just meet once a year to eat breakfast.

Garguillo’s Restaurant opened on Septemebr 4th in Tinton Falls, NJ. It looks so different than the place in Brooklyn.

September 5, 2019Con Edison’s Communication Fail in Bay Ridge 9/5
Street lights were out on the corner of 87th Street and 3rd Avenue this afternoon.
Coucilman Brannan called in the problem to Con Edison and he was told that they had to receive more calls to complain about the problem.
You would think Con Edison would be grateful for the heads up about an electricity problem.

On October 17th, FIAO Italian Federation has a class from 6:00 – 10:00 pm to teach you how to make mozzarella cheese. $15 a person.
On October 20th, there will be a Family version of that class – $30 for the family.
