Ya Gotta Bring the Voting Card
Today, when we went to the polls, they had snazzy tablets. The Board of Elections temporary employee asked me for my card. I told her that I didn’t have it and she was miffed.
She pretended I handed her a card and showed me how she would scan it on the tablet.
I told her that I didn’t know they were going to have fancy gadgets this time because for ten years I have been voting at the same booth and there hasn’t been fancy gadgets. She told me to bring it next time.
This huge scarecrow was in the Senior Center – very cute!
The man typed in my name as two other employees at the table watched him use the one table. Why does the Board of Elections have so many people sitting there sharing one tablet?
Then he asked me to confirm my Date of Birth on the screen. Ewwwww – now I have to be reminded how old I am when I am voting. We never did that before.
Finally, I got the ballot and went to vote against Jumaane Williams.
My techie friends loved the new tablet check-in and they felt like it would help with voter fraud. I didn’t think it was that great.

November 4, 2019Are There Two Justin Brannan’s?
First I saw the tweet below from Common Cause thanking Justin Brannan for signing his name to the letter supporting Ranked Choice Voting.
Then I saw Justin Brannan’s tweet saying he was with his brother and he wasn’t sold on Ranked Choice Voting.
![]()
Here Brannan voices more concerns about ranked choice voting. Why the heck did he sign that letter saying he supported it, without thinking it through?
![]()
Maybe his staff should check that he isn’t sending out conflicting messages, instead of tweeting to fluff his ego. Yesterday’s message equally strange (see below).
If anyone sees the original Justin Brannan, tell him my local paper doesn’t need any more articles about absolutely nothing!
Justin Brannan clearly sees that Jumaane Williams did not help me with property taxes. I shared the letter online multiple times.

Yet Brannan posted this:

REALLY??? Last election Councilman Brannan told everyone to vote for Michael Blake —- and not Jumaane Williams…..two Justins?

It is not open every day from 5:00 am – 9:00 pm.

November 3, 2019Malliotakis Supports SBA and Aim at Commissioner O’Neill
Pandering Nicole Malliotakis plays politics as usual. Today, she retweeted the SBA blaming Commissioner James O’Neill for dividing the city and destroying the NYPD. Disgusting!
![]()
Malliotakis has the support of the PBA, the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, with Pat Lynch as the leader, so she is using that support to try to gain traction in next year’s election.
Here’s the problem – James O’Neill is a good guy. Yes, he works for Mayor de Blasio, but O’Neill tries to do the right thing for both the city and for the NYPD.
This retweet shows she is divisive – the SBA should not receive support for blaming Commissioner O’Neill. Of course you shouldn’t forget about Nicole’s birthday fundraiser guys – cause you know it’s all about the money!
Nicole’s message as a leader in Brooklyn and Staten Island should have been like Holden’s message below. You can see his tweet here. He didn’t retweet the SBA.

November 3, 2019Don’t Smoke Pot on the Church Steps
Hey everyone. Come to the @StFinbarBklyn church and smoke marijuana in a side ally on our steps. @BrooklynDA won’t prosecute you compliments of @BilldeBlasio VOTE VOTE VOTE to protect our Catholic Churches. pic.twitter.com/bOYBegztMo
— Fr. Michael Gelfant (@frgelfant) October 30, 2019
Everyone knows you don’t smoke pot at the church.
This group saw the quiet alley and probably didn’t realize it was the church’s property. St. Finbar’s needs to let them know they are not a doobie friendly organization. Maybe posing a sign like this would help.
This week, St. Finbar’s pastor, Father Michael Gelfant posted the above picture and comment on Twitter.
The Brooklyn DA isn’t prosecuting a lot of crimes now. : (

Regina Pacis at 1230 65th Street and several other churches are having shoe/sneaker drives for migrant and refugee families.
The Pope reminded people that it is a responsibility of Catholics to help migrants. Here’s the link to that inf0 (here also) because I know some of my readers are haters and will think I made that up.
