Marco Kepi Standing Up for Bus Riders

Marko Kepi is running for Nicole Malliotakis’ seat. And here he is pointing out the problem at the bus stop at 10 pm in Bay Ridge. That’s a crazy line!

There are more than enough elected representatives who should be dealing with this problem.

Sadly, they are doing surveys and overriding the Community Board so no one is dealing with this.

Chemical Smell in the Air in Bay Ridge

The air smells strange tonight in Bay Ridge,  like burnt rubber or a chemical smell.

There was a building fire on Ovington and 4th Avenue around near 11:00 pm and everyone in the area and in Dyker Heights is smelling it too.  A lot of fire engines answered the call.  Go FDNY!!

Goodbye Brooklyn Market Parking Lot

If you shop at Brooklyn Market (now called Key Food Food Emporiumbut we still call it Brooklyn Market), you will be sad to hear the news that the Parking Lot across the street is going to look like this in a year or two:

Get the details about the new building on 3rd Avenue and 81st Street here.

The residents on 81st Street may not be too happy as it looks like they are going to receive a lot of shade.

Also notable: 32 residences will be created ($$$), but none have parking. How are developers able to continue to build without having any parking?

Ya Gotta Bring the Voting Card

Today, when we went to the polls, they had snazzy tablets. The Board of Elections temporary employee asked me for my card. I told her that I didn’t have it and she was miffed.

She pretended I handed her a card and showed me how she would scan it on the tablet.

I told her that I didn’t know they were going to have fancy gadgets this time because for ten years I have been voting at the same booth and there hasn’t been fancy gadgets. She told me to bring it next time.

This huge scarecrow was in the Senior Center – very cute!

The man typed in my name as two other employees at the table watched him use the one table.  Why does the Board of Elections have so many people sitting there sharing one tablet?

Then he asked me to confirm my Date of Birth on the screen. Ewwwww – now I have to be reminded how old I am when I am voting. We never did that before.

Finally, I got the ballot and went to vote against Jumaane Williams.

My techie friends loved the new tablet check-in and they felt like it would help with voter fraud.  I didn’t think it was that great.
