Update: The child was reunited with the parent.
A three-year-old child was found on 76th Street and 21st Avenue in Bensonhurst.
Good people searched for his parents and then brought the child to the 62nd Police Station.

September 12, 2025Belt Parkway Ramp Closed Repair on 9/11 – 9/13

***WEEKEND TRAFFIC ADVISORY***
Verrazzano Bridge Belt Parkway Ramp
The E/B Belt Parkway exit ramp from the Verrazzano Bridge into Brooklyn will be closed to traffic this weekend, Friday 9/12 and Saturday 9/13, each night from 11:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m. the next morning.
During these periods motorists seeking the E/B Belt Parkway will follow detour signage from the VNB’s 92nd Street exit through local streets to enter the Belt Parkway at Bay 8th Street.
The closure is necessary to accommodate milling and paving work on the ramp.
NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents will be posted to facilitate traffic.

September 12, 2025Blisstock Will Take Place on Saturday, September 13th in Owls Head Park in Bay Ridge

This is the tenth year of Blisstock! Every year some Bay Ridginals put together a free, one-day musical festival and invite the entire neighborhood.

Blisstock will take place on Saturday, September 13th from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bliss Park. The park had some renovations, but they are done and Blisstock is happening.

There is live music all day at the top of the hill.

Around 13th Avenue and 79th Street, two women were trying to lure an elderly woman to their car to rob her.
The smart Dyker Heights woman yelled and ran away.
Her neighbor shared what happened so other seniors don’t stop to talk to the two women in a car.
Warn you relatives and friends that sneaky women are preying on nice seniors.

On Saturday, September 13th. there will be no parking on Ridge Blvd ( next to the library) between 72nd and 73rd Streets from 10:00 am to 2:00 om because the Department of Sanitation is holding an E-waste and Textile Recycling event.

E-waste collected at these events include: household and office electronics (computers, laptops, keyboards, printers), smaller entertainment electronics (video game consoles, cell phones, MP3 players), and TVs, VCRs, DVDs, DVRs.
Textiles collected at these events include: clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, and all fabric items that are clean, dry, and unsoiled. Textile must be in bags.

Today, the NYPD shared this:
On Wednesday, September 3, 2025 around 11:30 pm, a 32-year-old female was walking in front of 2837 – 86 th Street when the man pictured above approached her from behind. He grabbed her purse and caused the strap to break. The woman fell to the ground.
