Brooklyn Brew Cafe Has Delicious Coffee

The coffee is fantastic at Brooklyn Brew Cafe, which opened at  310 79th Street.

The cups read: ‘Brooklyn Roasting Coffee‘,  for the type of coffee they are serving.

Surprisingly,  I had never tried this coffee.   It was SO good!

I drink a lot of coffee and I am pretty picky about it, but is was a delicious cup of joe.

The coffee shop is super cute! It’s a great spot to meet a friend and gossip about everything. The guy working at the shop made the coffee exactly as I asked.

The shop also sells the Brooklyn Roasting Coffee coffee beans (so if you know someone who loves coffee – this would be a nice gift for them).

The sweet and savory pastries are baked at Colson Patisserie in Industry City.

Brooklyn Brew Cafe is off Third Avenue. They should chat with the nice people at the Pour House and ask if they can put a chalkboard with an arrow pointing up to their shop…..and maybe $1.00 off coupon on the chalkboard or some balloons so people know they are up there.

Maybe if they place a large snowman blowup outside the coffee shop OR place a backdrop setup in the front of the shop, it will bring more people up the block to take pics for Instagram!

Marina, the owner, makes amazing soup. Maybe in the future they could sell some amazing soup and be on grubhub or seamless (yes, her soup is THAT good).

Ace Hardware on 13th Ave is Closing in February

Ace Hardware also known as Costello’s (formerly Polsteins) on 13th Avenue is closing in February.   : (

Next week they are starting sales to sell items. Some of their inventory will be transferred to the Staten Island Ace Hardware store.

Sad news when a hardware store can’t stay open. We don’t know what is going in that spot, but maybe someone will grab it and put another home – hardware type store, as there aren’t many like them in the area.

Verrazano Jumper – RIP – 12/6/19

Sadly, on 12/7, another person jumped from the Verrazzano Bridge – see here

Update: The man died at the hospital. RIP. Prayers for his family.

If you heard the helicopters flying overhead, a 44-year-old man  jumped from the top level of the Verrazzano Bridge this evening around 5:25 pm.  (Video of helicopter here)

The Upper Level of the Verrazzano Bridge was shutdown. “The man was on the Staten-Island-bound side of the bridge, closer to Bay Ridge.” (Info from here)

It’s being shared that NYPD scuba divers rescued the person from the water and the man has been brought to NYU Langone Hospital.  He is in critical condition.
