Fighting Traffic Tickets in Brooklyn

fish

I just noticed the Shell Station on 65th Street and 7th Avenue changed their sign a bit.

Now you can get help with your traffic tickets from criminal lawyers and get a car wash.

The sign used to look like this:

While Shops on 3rd Close, Company Hired to Form a BID Is Clueless

Yesterday, I shared about some more store closures on 3rd Avenue. The people who want the BID think all the store owners are wealthy and can afford the BID. If you live here and talk with the merchants, you know a lot of them can’t afford one more bill.

#NoMoreTaxes

Support the Merchants – NO BID on 3rd Avenue….the Merchants can work together without a BID.

Councilman Justin Brannan wasted our tax dollars on this!

New Items at Schnitzel Haus

When you see a restaurant adding items to their menu, it means the owner is still interested in their business and engaging the community. Schnitzel Haus at 7310 – 5th Avenue has been busy with some new items!

Last week, they added pierogiesto the menu. Yhe owner specifically discussed adding different types for vegans. I am not vegan, but someone in my family is and some friends are as well. When they are in Bay Ridge, I need restaurants which have options for vegans. The Impossible Burger doesn’t cut it for most of the vegans I know.

If you order from Schnitzel Haus, Fred, the owner usually delivers it.  Lee loves meat and he loves the way they cook it at Schnitzel Haus.

The bad thing about Schnitzel Haus is the only way you can get egg noodles is if you order Beef Goulash.  Why can’t someone get a little side dish of egg noodles?

Things on Third is Closing

Things on Third at 7815 – 3rd Avnue is closing.  So sorry to see this gift shop closing, but the owner is going to continue sell customized items through their page

The owner, Angela wrote this:

Dear Friend,

It is with a heavy heart that I send this Letter to notify you that Things On Third will be closing it’s doors.

Beginning Today February 26th all regularly priced merchandise will be 25% off and Christmas is 50% off. In addition to the merchandise all of the furniture, shelving and fixtures will also be available for purchase.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported Things on Third for the past three and a half years. I have been working in brick and mortar stores for 18 years and it has been a pleasure being part of the Bay Ridge community. While getting to know you and your families, I have developed many lasting friendships and for that I am eternally grateful.

Although this chapter of my life may be closing this isn’t farewell. I plan to continue my custom work. Please look out for me on Facebook. ** Angela Arena or my like page Things On Third.

There are no goodbyes… see you soon.

Your Friend,
Angela

Burger IM on 86th Street Closed

Burger IM at 518 86th Street hasn’t been open.

The founder left the country, leaving behind a wreckage of unpaid workers, bankrupt franchisees and others struggling to make it work. Info here

MM Sportswear Outlet Closed

MM Sportswear Outlet at 8115 – 3rd Avenue closed. It’s across the street from Brooklyn Market (next to the parking lot).

Very sad to see as it takes a lot to open a business in Brooklyn.

This is the second store on this block that recently became empty –  see other.

Bay Ridge Needs a Leader Like This

v

Bay Ridge, we need someone like this to represent us. He is intelligent and passionate and not afraid!

Instead, we have politicians who appear to be afraid of de Blasio and Corey Johnson. None will speak out against them.

The Imaginary Kids Workshop on 3rd Avenue

The Imaginary Kids Workshop is opening at 8922 – 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge. If you have a slime lover in your home, they will convince you they need to go here to make all different types of slime!

Their website shows they will have drop-in workshops, birthday parties and camp days as well!

Congratulations to the new owners, Carole and Kerry! Parents are going to love that your place is in the neighborhood!  May your new place bring a lot of happiness and success.

This shop, 8922 – 3rd Avenue used to be belong to Mr. Wood Inc., which did antique furniture restoration and had a very unique shop.  Hopefully, he will appear somewhere else in the neighborhood (or nearby) soon.

RIP Patience Albert

She was only  ten years old and on the way to school with her older brother.

Patience Brown was killed by a 61-year-old school bus driver this morning in East New York, Brooklyn.  See here and here

A family is without their daughter and sister…..changed forever. Patience’s older sister was on television tonight and she spoke so lovingly about Patience. More kind words here

A school is without one of their students and there must have been a lot of sad fourth graders in Brooklyn.

No one in NYC seems to have the solution on how to calm the streets.

Prayers for Patience’s family. If you have a moment, say a prayer for them because they are going to have a hard road ahead of them. Patience’s brother saw this happen – seriously, nothing could be worse than that! God please help him.

RIP Patience.

Alec Brook-Krasny is Running for Treyger’s Seat

Mark Treyger is term-limited……thank God for term-limits.

Alec Brook-Krasny is Running for the seat. See here

People who were represented by Brook-Krasny loved him.

It will be interesting to see how the Democrats line up in this situation.
