March 11, 2020A Little Library at the Gazebo on Shore Road
![]()
Bay Ridge…..Stephen Johnson’s Eagle Scout Project brought a Little Library to Shore Road Gazebo at 90th Street.
For all the bad news in the world, it’s nice to see something good!
Stephen Johnson said that this project idea came from Demetri Gabriel. Johnson intended for the project to beautify our community as well as promote literacy and sense of community spirit! That’s so nice!
![]()
Bay Ridge, anyone can borrow books or donate books to this Little Library. If you haven’t heard of Little Libraries or want to know where more are in our neighborhood, see here
Thank you to Stephen, whose project made the neighborhood a little bit brighter!

March 11, 2020Gounardes Fools Us – Bill for Cyclists
I am so tired of the government and “Know It Alls” trying to make everyone pay.
This is the bill Gounardes is talking about in the video above. Notice it’s for bicyclist safety and how to pass a bicyclist on the road! Ughhh.
![]()
Last week, Frank died on our streets. Frank wasn’t on a bicycle. He was killed by someone driving car.
The driver of the vehicle that killed Frank appears to have an interesting driving history. The driver wasn’t even arrested. Why didn’t Senator Gounardes do anything about that?
Gounardes plays up to the bike community and this bill is so he gets their support. Gounardes can’t hear Bay Ridge saying ENOUGH with the bike community!
Gounardes’ tweet hid that this is a bill for cyclists.
![]()
NY State Senate’s tweet was much more forthcoming:
Gounardes solution is to punish drivers…..c’mon this is not going to change the streets.
Ridgites came up with solutions for the streets, but “Know-It-Alls” can’t hear them:
1) We all know there is no law enforcement in that area. If you go to other neighborhoods, there are police vehicles all over the streets. In our area, you rarely see police cars (please don’t tell me they are undercover because they aren’t undercover when they make a ride to get coffee or dinner). The Neighborhood Policing Program stops the NYPD from patrolling and keeps them in the police station. Gounardes either has to work with the NYPD or hire outside law enforcement to be on the street. Stop wasting government money on nonsense not-for-profit ventures to pick up votes and use it to hire officers.
2) If speeding is the issue, send the repeat offender back to DMV for a class and test. Why does everyone else have to suffer because of a few jerks who break the law repeatedly.
3) People talked about the pedestrian street light not being long enough. If the light isn’t long enough, then put a delay on the lights.
Protip: Whenever you see Gounardes on a bill with Alessandra Biaggi, get ready for the game of politics. Biaggi has no reason to pass any bills for Bay Ridge or to help the people here.

March 10, 2020Trump Supporters Set Up Outside the Post Office
![]()
This is the first time that I have seen Trump supporters set up a table in Bay Ridge…..it’s strange to see on a Tuesday afternoon.
This was outside the Post Office on 5th Avenue and 88th Street.
![]()
Update: Apparently they are there regularly. They were on 86th Street at one time, but the teens may have been bothering them because of their Trump signs.
They are also seen regularly outside of the Post Office in Dyker Heights.

March 10, 2020If You Have a Teen, Get Some Narcan
Narcan is a nasal spray that can stop a drug overdose. If you got “the good” teenager – get some narcan, just in case one of their friends uses.

Drug addicts don’t always hang out with other drug addicts.
Many were good kids and they hang out with the good kids from their neighborhood.

March 9, 2020Bensonhurst Basement Has Many Animals
![]()
Someone reported that many animals were being kept at this location in Bensonhurst (thank goodness for the person who reported this).
The AAPA and the police went there. I saw the rescue group’s video – it is horrible. (Some profanity so watch the volume)
In the basement there were: 22 cats, 6 dogs, 2 ducks, a pig and a turtle.
This is a very sad story. See the story here
Thank God for the AAPA and people who care for animals!
