“Upon arrival, officers determined no shots had been fired. A 37-year-old male victim was approached by three male suspects, who punched and kicked him before stealing his Toyota minivan. “
Channel 12 News shared: They thieves simulated having a gun, stole the man’s wallet and phone and then drove off in his vehicle. The chase ended when the vehicle crashed near the Gowanus Expressway and 84th Street.
Senator Steve Chan updated the community while Justin Brannan is in Puerto Rico and Andrew Gounardes doesn’t know he should provide an update. Chan wrote that the thieves knew the van owner. It was not a stranger abducting a stranger.

“The stolen van was later found crashed through pedestrian bridge fencing, coming to rest on a grassy hill between the BQE and the service road near Exit 18. “
Two suspects are in custody; the third remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.
The victim refused medical treatment. It is unknown if the carjacking victim was in the van with the suspects as it is currently under investigation according to the NYPD. However, the NYPD’s Level 1 mobilization was in regards to an “abduction.”

November 7, 2025Why is Kayla Santosuosso in Puerto Rico at Somos With the Lobbyists?

The newly elected Councilwoman, Kayla Santasuosso took a flight to Puerto Rico to attend Somos. Did you expect to see her outside the train station thanking you for voting for her? HA HA!

Kayla planned since August:

Since Kayla’s first action was to go to Somos – we are in trouble, Bay Ridge. Somos is a conference which lobbyists attend.
Brannan is out of office in January. Why did he attend Somos? The reporter noted that he was passing the torch. Why wouldn’t he do that in the Bay Ridge office where they both work?
If you thought Justin Brannan did a good job with the NYC Council budget, look at the numbers:

Stay tuned for more lobbyists projects in Bay Ridge.

November 7, 2025Four Weeks Ago, Two High School Students Were Hurt on Narrows Ave. Andrew Gounardes Failed to Take Action and Change the Street

Four weeks ago today, two teenagers were seriously hurt by a driver on Narrows Avenue in Bay Ridge.
By now we should have seen:
a) A change to that street or law enforcement present so it doesn’t happen to another child walking home from school.
b) An update about teens and this street from Senator Gounardes.
Instead, Gounardes is busy tweeting regularly about Republicans. Almost every day he is jabbing at them.
We don’t need a man sitting on his phone tweeting. We need a person who will take immediate action for safety. We need a new senator – this one is horrible.

November 6, 2025Andrew Gounardes Plans To Reintroduce Faith Based Housing Bill Without Holding a Townhall

Bay Ridge residents were happy that Assemblyman Brian Cunningham’s bill that Andrew Gounardes sponsored in the Senate for faith-based housing died.
The bill would allow churches, mosques, temples and synagogues to build housing on their property.
Residents in Bay Ridge, who live on streets with houses of worship objected to this bill. Andrew Gounardes has failed to hold a townhall meeting for the community in several years.

November 5, 2025Bookmark Shoppe’s Christmas Items Are Out

Last year, I saw all the cute things that the Bookmark Shoppe at 8415 – 3rd Avenue shared online.
In the first week of December, I went in to get some of those Christmas items. ALL of the cute items were GONE! The woman in Bay Ridge shop early and get the cute stuff.

When I saw these giant Elf on the Shelf dolls, I thought we didn’t need them. We realized we need one (maybe two) to drive some family members crazy (imagine having to move this giant elf around every day!)

Some friends who celebrate Christmas Eve are going to get this book.

I love buying people books at The Bookmark Shoppe. Their gift wrapping is awesome. They use clear bags and ribbon and it looks great (it is also done fast at the store).

November 5, 2025Swastikas on a Magen David Yeshiva in Brooklyn – Politicians Response is Good

Vandals spray-painted red swastikas on the Magen David Yeshiva at 2132 McDonald Avenue in Gravesend. The swastikas were on a pillar and window of the school. The boys who attend this school shouldn’t have to deal with this hate.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.

Senator Steve Chan, Councilwoman Susan Zhuang, Assemblyman Colton and Mark Treyger went there to be with the community and show unity. Their message is clear – hate will not be tolerated

Governor Hochul is putting $90 Million dollars towards security. See story:

Mayor Adams and Mayor-Elect Mandami did not show up.
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis responded to the hate:
