September 27, 2025FlynnStoned Cannabis Shop is Advertising Across the Street From a School in Bay Ridge

Legal cannabis shop, FlynnStoned on 5th Avenue and 81st Street in Bay Ridge put up large advertisements on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge – across the street from PS 104.

That is not acceptable. This store should not be advertising across the street from a school. Other legal cannabis shops in the area have been quiet and have not put up advertisements in the area.

And why does FlynnStoned have a cute stronaut as part of their advertising if their products are for adults?
When Senator Andrew Gounardes saw a concerned parent share these photos yesterday afternoon, he should have taken action for the community.
Andrew Gounardes voted in the NYS Senate to allow legal cannabis shops in the community. When they aren’t following established protocols, Gounardes should be responding.
Gounardes’ children don’t attend this school, so it isn’t a priority to him.

September 27, 2025Sunset Park Residents Flew Message To Andrew Gounardes and Dan Donovan

The Brooklyn Marine Terminal Project was approved this week.
As you can see from the message flying in the sky, elected leaders didn’t do a good job representing Sunset Park. Many felt the politicians sold out Brooklyn to the EDC.
Many residents are upset because the project lacked transparency and infrastructure for the housing plans. The vote was delayed five times. This time, the Assemblywoman for the area called for more time before they vote and they refused.

This area was gerrymandered into Gounardes’ district, so Andrew should have made a better effort to hear and help the people get the needed reports and answers.

September 26, 2025After Hours Street Work on 94th Street Between 3rd and Ridge Blvd. in Bay Ridge

The streets are being ripped up in Bay Ridge. On 94th street between 3rd Avenue and Ridge Blvd., there were notices posted for work to be done between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm for 9/25-9/26.
The crew showed up with their trucks on Thursday evening 9/25 at 10:30pm and started working.
When residents complained about the noise, the workers suggested they call 311.
311 told the resident to call the 68th Precinct. The 68th Precinct told the resident to call the DOT. The resident called 311 and left a complaint for the DOT
The DOT is allowed to do emergency work at night. Repaving the street is not emergency work.
The DOT does this because there is no politician living in Bay Ridge who will say or do anything. Do you think this is happening on Andrew Gounardes or Justin Brannan’s blocks?
It’s been happening for years. We need better leaders who are concerned with local issues and not playing on social media.
