April 10, 2020RIP Madeline Brennan – IS 201
Daily News
Madeline Brennan, former principal of Dyker Heights Intermediate School 201 died yesterday at the age of 93. She was the principal for 50 years before retiring in 2013. See here
Mrs. Brennan was a legend.
The success of Dyker Heights Intermediate School happened because of her excellent leadership. She believed in her staff and described them as the “most, professional, dedicated, hard-working people that any principal would die for.” (Source) She had high standards and believed that school was a special place.
Daily News
Her death was not due to the coronavirus. (Source)
The President of the Council for School Supervisors and Administrators also called Mrs. Brennan a legend and honors her on Twitter by saying: Great Schools Begin with Great Leaders.

Brennan spent five decades of her life at IS 201 because she loved the school. When the coronavirus is over, IS 201 will celebrate Mrs. Brennan’s life with an event.
I imagine Mrs. Brennan was met at the gates of heaven with many welcoming her in singing her favorite song YMCA.
RIP.

April 10, 2020RIP Joe Joyce – JJ Bubbles
Sorry to hear the news that Joe Joyce, owner of JJ Bubbles Pub passed away yesterday.
April 18th Update: NYT Article
JJ Bubbles Pub is on 3rd Avenue and 79th Street in Bay Ridge. The Brooklyn Paper reported it was open for 42 years. See here
A friend of mine who moved to Manhattan a few years ago still returns to play darts at JJ Bubbles. When I first went to JJ Bubbles, I asked my friend what JJ stood for. He introduced me to JJ with my initials and any time I returned to the bar, Joe still remembered and called me by my initials. (I have double initials as well). Joe was an educator before becoming a bar owner decades ago.
Joe was featured in Vice’s video this year and candidly said that the New York Times was biased.
Joe was a funny and kind man. He wanted everyone to have a good time at his place. He could make people laugh so easily. Joe is remembered by people here.
RIP Joe.
Update:
Artie Nelson who worked at JJ Bubbles also died from COVID-19 on April 10th. RIP Artie. God wanted to set up a new bar in heaven with these two. His obituary is here.

April 9, 2020Is Nicole Malliotakis Photoshopped Here?
![]()
Joey believed Nicole Malliotakis has photoshopped this picture during the pandemic. His video is pretty interesting. See video
He found the original picture:
Updated: The Daily News called out Malliotakis on it. But more importantly, they slammed the NYS Conservative Party for distributing the picture. The Conservative Party is led by Jerry Kassar. Kassar took credit for the video – see article here. Kassar doesn’t care if he is fooling us. Remember Kassar is the guy who allowed the placeholder candidate in our election.
Why would Malliotakis do that when she has an actual picture of her working? See here
Of course this picture is interesting too.
Is this one edited too….green screen video….she’s missing the top of her head!

April 9, 2020Andrew Gounardes Shaves During Pandemic
Senator Gounardes appeared clean-shaven in a video playing politics to a labor union.
Pandemic boredom may have set in for the senator, as he was baking bread this week.
On Monday, April 13th, Senator Gounardes is having a virtual townhall on mental health at 6 pm. You will be able to see it here: FB Page
Gounardes’ first virtual townhall was a disaster, so this one has to be better, right?
If Gounardes did his job and provided relief for renters, I’m sure their mental health would be a lot better! See here
Gounardes hasn’t held a general townhall since last year because he knows there are groups of people who will call him out for the way he has voted AND FOR NOT DOING HIS JOB.
Why are people not able to reach Andrew now?

Renters counted on Gounardes to have their back and he didn’t do anything for them:

Mostly people are seeing Gounardes isn’t representing his community:
