Tow Truck First Responder Run – May 23rd

This looks cool! It’s something we haven’t seen before.

They are meeting at 6 pm at Cesear’s Bay – that might be cool to see them lining up.

The rent is being run by two politicians .  Steve Patzer is running for Treyger’s City Council seat – Treyger is term-limited.

Matt Zebracki said that if your child has a birthday on May 23rd, let them know and they will try to pass by.

John’s Deli is Opening on 13th Avenue

John’s Deli in Staten Island is opening a deli in Dyker Heights at 8308 – 13th Avenue. In 1968 John’s Deli was at 86th Street and Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn.

Johns’s Deli is in the storefront which belonged to Paesano

Most businesses wouldn’t attempt to open during a pandemic, but these business owners know people love sandwiches!  See their menu.  They aren’t open in Dyker Heights yet, so don’t try to order yet.

Here’s Rob talking about the new store:

Good luck to the new owners!

Jetblue’s Flyover Bay Ridge

Today, Jetblue did a Flyover the city to show Nonstop Gratitude. They were a bit earlier than 7:00 pm for our area because they wanted to be in Manhattan at 7 pm.

Plane enthusiasts love these flyovers. Some people love to have a reason to drink wine on their roof.

Other NY’ers don’t like the waste of money for fuel or the low flying planes in NYC.

Senator Gounardes Was Zoom Bombed

Technology is a great thing – when people take the time to use it correctly!

Senator Gounardes was having an online meeting with some college students.

If you are having an online discussion, then it’s your responsibility to learn how to control the meeting. Zoom has shared easy tips with users so they can keep their sessions from being bombed. A twitter user even responded that people have had two months to learn this technology – see here

Gounardes tweeted some slang language and blamed Zoom….#NoResponsibility

Shutting down a meeting that hasn’t been properly setup would have been the right thing to do.

Zoom quickly responded to the tweets above. See their response.  Senator Gounardes doesn’t have near that response time!

Comedian’s Cousin Given Pricey Catholic Funeral

Dorothea Buschell of Bay Ridge died of coronavirus on April 13th at the Hamilton Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (across the street from Poly Prep School).

RIP Dorothea.

Dorothea’s cousin, Elayne Boosler is a comedian. Boosler was surprised that Dorothea was given an expensive Catholic funeral, even though she’s Jewish and had a cemetery plot. The news article states that the funeral was part of a funeral plan, which Buschell was sold in August 2017, but never signed.

Boosler shared the story online because she doesn’t want this to other people.  See the newspaper article.
