Check Washing – 77th & Ridge Mailbox
A Bay Ridge residnt shared that they mailed a check using the mailbox on 77th Street and Ridge Blvd. The check was washed and someone named Lisa Hoag mobile cashing (through an app) to cash the check.
While the 68th Precinct recommends people use the post office to mail checks (see graphic above), some Bay Ridge residents shared that although they always use the post office, their checks were washed there as well.

Bay Ridge Summer Stroll – August 7, 2026
The third Bay Ridge Summer Stroll is on Friday, August 7, 2026. The stroll is on 3rd Avenue from 82nd Street to Marine Avenue from 6:00 – 10:00 pm.
A) The free bounce houses and kids activities are on 82nd Street and 3rd Avenue.
Wine Tasting at Cellary Wine Shop at 8916 – 3rd Avenue.
Greenspa at 8804 – 3rd Avenue has sample treatments, giveaways, glitter tattoos and a prize wheel.
Soldano Realty at 9014 – 3rd Avenue is having a free raffle for $500 worth of gift certificates to restaurants on 3rd Avenue. Stop by to enter!
1) Fast Forward will be outside The Wicked Monk on 3rd Avenue and 95th Street from 6:00 – 10:00 pm (last year they were fantastic at the Stroll).
2) Sino & Scalici will be at The Kettle Black at 8622 – 3rd Avenue at 8:00 pm.
3) Sofia Restaurant at 84033 – 3rd Avenue has DJ Vinny T. Call 718-680-4242 for a reservation from 6:00 PM to 11:00 pm. Reservations: 718-680-4242.
DJ Lee will bee at The Greenhouse Cafe for dancing and karaoke at 7717 – 3rd Avenue.

Free Produce on Thursdays & Fridays for Seniors 60+ in Bay Ridge
Seniors 60+ can get a free bag of produce at The Bay Ridge Center at 15 Bay Ridge Avenue from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on either Thursdays or Fridays.
Individuals must be a member of the center and can complete the membership on-site.
Also the Bay Ridge Center has a technology survey for people 18 and older. One person who completes the survey will receive a $25 Amazon gift card. You can take the short survey (30 questions) here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MV5MKB6
