People Riding Citibikes From Manhattan to Bay Ridge Can’t Find Parking Spaces in the Docks!

Brooklyn cyclists are complaining that it is impossible to park Citibikes in Bay Ridge because the racks are almost always full.

They open the Citibike app and find only a few empty spots on the Citibike charging dock. Meaning: Very few people in Bay Ridge are riding to work on Citibikes.

Cyclists have complained to Citibike Rack Support many times (1-855-BIKE-311), but the situation has not improved.
When this happens, Citibike is supposed to manually redistribute the bikes or give bike angels points to cyclists who move bikes to other racks. But Citibike isn’t doing either of those things!
Some Ridgites are trying to negotiate a dock spot with other Citibike users in the area:

What a mess! NYC should hold Lyft responsible, but they won’t because the lobbyists win in Bay Ridge. (Andrew Gounardes made a video for Citibike, even though he uses his car to get around and go to work).

April 28, 2026Child Seriously Hurt Afterschool Yesterday – 81st Street Between 14th and 15th Avenue

Yesterday after school, there was a terrible accident on 81st Street between 14th and 15th Avenues. A child was hit by a car. He was bleeding from his head.
An ambulance brought the boy to the hospital. The boy was conscious, so hopefully he will be alright. *Prayers* for his recovery.
Our community does not prioritize children any longer. I grew up around adults who understood that they had to keep children safe. Our government has other priorities over children.
People who live on 81st Street have requested a speed bump, but were denied by NYC. Lobbyists aren’t pushing for speed bumps, so its not a priority.
It’s over 24 hours since this child was hurt and Senator Andrew Gounardes has not even mentioned this accident. Gounardes is too busy posting videos of himself on social media. He says he is in contact with the police, but he isn’t. He’s just not connected to this community.
Lobbyists and lobbyist’s wants are the priority in this community. We need to change that!

April 28, 2026If You Love Bay Ridge, Come Speak Out Against the Overdevelopment at the Staples Lot – 5/7/26

Bay Ridge, I didn’t receive this Public Meeting Notice. Did you?
Community Board 10 is using the District Office again to limit voices. A school auditorium should have been used, so that everyone who wanted to speak at the meeting could be heard.

This notice says:
Dear Resident/Business Owner/Property Owner:
Community Board 10’s Zoning and Land Use Committee began its advisory review of a zoning map amendment at 9305 5th Avenue. The proposed amendment seeks to change the zoning district at this location from a R6B/C2-3 to a R7X/C2-4, and a zoning text amendment pursuant to Appendix F to map MIH to facilitate a new 11-story 292 dwelling unit mixed-use development, including approximately 13,000 square feet for commercial and community facility uses, being sought by 9305 5th Avenue LLC in Bay Ridge, the current site of Staples. Renderings of the proposed building are on the reverse side.
You can view the proposed plans for this location by visiting City Planning’s ZAP Portal under the Public Documents section at zap.planning.nyc.gov/projects/2025K0284. You can also view the prior Community Board 10 Zoning and Land Use Committee meeting that was held on Wednesday, April 15th by visiting our Community Board 10 YouTube channel at http://bit.ly/3HLO5lw
There are two more opportunities for you to attend a meeting about this proposal.
The Zoning and Land Committee meeting will take place on Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm as a hybrid meeting. There is limited seating capacity in the District Office and residents may also participate on Zoom at https://bit.ly/ZALUC57. If you register for Zoom, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments. You may also send comments via email to [email protected] before the meeting, which will be entered into the record. The meeting will be livestreamed to CB10’s YouTube Channel for viewing in real time or any time later.
IT WILL BE TOO LATE BY THIS DATE:
PUBLIC HEARING General Monthly Meeting of Community Board 10 on May 18, 2026 at 7:00 pm at Bay Ridge Center, 15 Bay Ridge Avenue. This is an in-person meeting. You are welcome to attend this meeting and sign up to speak and share your comments about this proposal before the Community Board votes on providing its advisory opinion to the Department of City Planning. April 28, 2026Inna Vernikov Asked Why There is No Way to Contact The NYC Antisemitism Task Force

Mayor Mandami appointed Phylisa Wisdom as the Executive Director of The Taskforce to Combat Antisemitism on February 2nd.
On April 22nd, Phylisa Wisdom would not provide Councilwoman Inna Vernikov a way for her to be contacted. Is this a real taskforce? Listen to the video:
Zohran Mamdani’s Task Force to Combat Antisemitism:
— The Persian Jewess (@persianjewess) April 28, 2026
No Phone Number
No Email Address
No Website
No Social Media Presence
Led by a Self-Hating Jew
It’s an absolute farce built to exist on paper while doing nothing to protect Jews in NYC. pic.twitter.com/FhTGzfHYHt
Why didn’t Phylisa Wisdom provide her email address or phone number to the Councilwoman? She obviously doesn’t care and isn’t taking action against antisemitism.

It’s interesting to see how some schools get money and some don’t. Education nis obviously important to Council representative Zhuang.
