The Citizen App is showing a message about the police being called to the 95th Street Train station because a woman was sexually assaulted in the car of the R train this afternoon.

Iguazu Bar & Bistro has a soft opening at 9225 – 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

April 18, 2026More Mailbox Phishing in Brooklyn
Three arrests were made in the 72 Precinct in Brooklyn this week because thieves were mailbox phishing.
Three males from the Bronx were arrested at 4:10 am for “mailbox phishing” from two mailboxes on Prospect Park West between Windsor Place and 16th Street.
A combined total of $34,000 worth of checks were recovered.

Kristal Chabes Ortiz is 15-years-old and has been missing since Thursday, April 16th.
Kristal was last seen on Thursday outside her school, New Utrecht High School on 79th Street and 16th Avenue in Bensonhurst at dismissal.

April 16, 2026RIP. Body Found in the Water By Shore Road Park in Bay Ridge
It’s very sad to see this news.
A body was floating in the water near the Shore Road bike path (close to the 92nd Street pedestrian overpass) this afternoon around 5:00 pm.
People who were fishing saw the corpse and called the police. They came and removed the body from the water. News:

Helicopters were flying over Bay Ridge this evening.
Brooklynites believe this is a woman who jumped from the Verrazzano Bridge. No news has confirmed this.
