Guazu Bar and Bistro is Coming to 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge!
Guazu Bar and Bistro is coming to 9226 – 4th Avenue! This Brazilian restaurant is own by the same owners as Sarava Brazilian Bistro on 68th Street in Bay Ridge.
Sarava’s is a fantastic restaurant – great food and fantastic service. Everyone is going to love this new restaurant on 4th Avenue location. See pictures from Sarava:

Senator Steve Chan Speaks Out for Brooklyn AGAIN
While Steve Chan is not my senator, I am always impressed with the way he stands up for his community while in Albany.
Senator Chan spoke out about the cost of living, high utility bills, uninsured motorists.

Dead Birds Found in Coney Island – Bird Flu
Dead birds were found along the shore at Coney Island Creek Park. Residents reported it and their calls were closed, even though the birds had not been removed from the area.
Brooklynites called this into 311 because they know if other animals eat these diseased birds, the bird flue will spread. News here: https://shorturl.at/Z591X

Community Townhall About BESS on 64th Street
A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is being planned for 924 – 64th Street (this is a residential block). It’s also down the block from PS 69 – The Vincent Grippo School.
Senator Steve Chan and Assemblyman Lester Chang are having a Townhall Meeting on Thursday, March 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at PS 69 at 6302 – 9th Avenue.
Residents are concerned about this proposed battery storage system because some power stations have caught on fire and the fires release harmful toxins into the air.

If you have prom dresses, gowns, cocktail dresses, costume jewelry, men’s suits or shoes to donate, please bring them to 5800 – 20th Avenue.
This is for the Senior Prom and Concetta Grillo is the person who is collecting at the school.

Large Fire in Sunset Park – 53rd St. and 1st Ave.

There was a massive fire at 17 – 53rd Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
This fire involves a factory and two buildings. It was classified as a 5-alarm fire. Play video:

People in Bay Ridge smell the smoke and some can see the smoke as this is near Lutheran NYU Hospital.
There were around 250 firefighters at this fire. Two firefighters were injured because the warehouse collapsed as the news said that 15,000 gallons of water were dumped on the fire per minute.
