Non-Citizen Voting Declared Unconstitutional

If you read this blog for awhile, you have seen me write about my great grandmother, who was assisted at Ellis Island by New Yorkers.
I believe people have the right to become citizens. If the system is broken then NYC Council should help to fix the system.
Councilman Justin Brannan co-sponsored the bill to give non-citizens the right to vote in local NYC elections. (See here)
The Supreme Court ordered that this bill violates the New York State Constitution, the New York State Law and the Municipal Home Rule Law. (See story)
When Justin Brannan took office, he had to file an Oath of Office. Brannan had to swear to support and uphold the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of New York, and the Charter of the City of New York. He has not done that.

Maybe politicians like Brannan don’t know the Constitution and need to learn about it before they take office. It’s not rocket science:

Today, City Councilman Joe Borelli revealed that more Democrats voted against the local law than Republicans.

Justin Brannan is not doing what he should be doing.
Michael Tannousis and Nicole Malliotakis shared this win on social media.

We should not see Brannan writing nonsense on Twitter when the Supreme Court ruled that this is violating the state Constitution.
We should see Brannan and his office helping people become citizens, so they can vote! Malliotakis does help people become citizens. (See here)
