Brooklyn Papers Aren’t Reporting About Asian Hate Crimes – Where’s Hoa Nguyen’s Story?

We are lucky that real reporters in NYC, like CeFaan Kim are taking Asian hate seriously because local papers in Brooklyn are not reporting about it. (See here)
Hoa Nguyen is a Brooklyn grandmother that has lived in America for 40 years.
On Wednesday, January 19th, walked to the grocery store near 360 Classon Avenue in Clinton Hill. A man a man attacked her while she was crossing the street. He punched her in the head multiple times. A person called the police and they immediately came and arrested him.
Hoa Nguyen said she forgives the man, even if he isn’t sorry. She also said she doesn’t want him to go to jail. A Go-Fund Me account was set up for this grandmother. (See here)

A 51-year-old homeless man was arrested for this crime.
“The defendant stated (he) punched Hoa Nguyen (because he) doesn’t like how Chinese people look; thinks Chinese people look like measles; and doesn’t like Chinese people looking at (him).”
Asians fighting for Justice shared this:

While our local papers continue to print one-sided stories fed to them from politicians, the real news is not being reported, even a WEEK AFTER THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED!
Politicians need to stop the press releases so people know that Asian Hate is not over in Brooklyn. Journalists need to stop working remotely and get on the scene to get the real news.
