Mayor Adams’ First Day Brought Hope to NYC
Mayor Eric Adams spoke clearly and confidently, without notes, outside of the 103rd Precinct.
Adams promised the police that he would give them the tools and support they need, but abusive officers will not remain.
Adams’ newly appointed NYPD Commissioner, Keechant Sewell is like a breath of fresh air. NYPD Chief of Patrol, Juanita Holmes nodded along as Commissioner Sewell spoke. One thing she spoke about is that police officers should take a rest in their cars between tours when their days off are cancelled.
Adams had a televised speech today that didn’t compare to his speech outside the precinct. He read from a teleprompter and said things like GSD (for “get stuff done”). That staffer should be given a different task.
Mayor Adams rode the subway and reported an assaulted. (See story) This is the assault he saw:

While on the train, he talked about the need to deal with the mental health issues and improve transportation.

Other Democrats reached out to Mayor Adams and wished him success in making the city safer.

The New York Times showed how disconnected they are from NYC, as they failed to mention Mayor Adams on the cover.
So many people are filled with hope for a better city.
Even a man in Coney Island at the Polar Bear Plunge was so joyful about Eric Adams taking office.
