Sunset Park Shop Robbed of $5000
Today, The NY Post reported about a robbery that took place at Zhenda Trading on Thursday, December 16th. (Story here)
A thief robbed a Sunset Park shop on 56th Street and 9th Avenue of $5000. Police are looking for the man above.

East of 8th Avenue has always been Borough Park. Isn’t that where CB7 ends? In recent years crime stories in that area keep calling it Sunset. Always crime stories.

Borough Park begins on 9th Avenue – don’t you know about the string that is hanging all around that community? When the string falls people come out like there is a fire.
If Borough Park begins on 8th Avenue that is news to me and I lived there for 25 years (actually up the next block from this incident…..on one of the best blocks in Brooklyn!)

Not according to the Community Planning Board.
A religious string doesn’t determine neighborhood boundaries.
The line is clearly 8th Avenue.

I never heard that and never knew that we lived on the border. We always considered that Sunset Park and then 9th Avenue was the start to Borough Park. The people on that block considered themselves in Sunset Park too.
My doctor’s office was on that block – Sunset Park Medical office.
But there is something strange from that area. The Post Office on 55th Street and 7th Avenue has always said it was the Bay Ridge post office, even though this area was never considered part of Bay Ridge. You can see it in this picture – you have to move it around as it is showing the opposite corner:
