On Saturday, November 28th, the police arrested fifty-six year old, Vito Bauza and charged with Diaz’ stabbing. (See Here) Bauza had the apartment, so the the 68th Precinct could have provided the community with that information. Diaz lived with Bauza in the apartment building. (Source)
The Police shared this description of the suspect:

A neighbor that lives at The Dorset filmed the video below. In the video, he said the front door lock to the Dorset building has been broken for a week and a half and it doesn’t close on its own. He didn’t know if that had anything to do with this homicide.
Detectives are seen at the building in the evening investigating the crime scene. There is also video footage from the afternoon for them to see. (Source)
What would possess someone to stab someone so violently in the afternoon?
The Post posted pictures at the apartment building here.
They brought the man to the hospital, but he passed away. Neighbors of deceased man said that he was a kind neighbor.

RIP to our neighbor. Prayers for the family and friends of this man. How awful for them to hear their friend/loved one was killed like this.
The Post article and The Citizen App (see here) stated that detectives were searching for the killer tonight. No one was arrested for this murder. “Detectives are still working to obtain a description of the man’s attacker, as well as a possible motive for the homicide. (Source)
Update: Senator Gounardes and Councilman Brannan repeated information that the news provided about 5 hours after the stabbing. The Citizen App was better at providing information to the community than the politicians (see here) Gounardes (See here)
Brannan called it a domestic violence case on Facebook. (See here)
UPDATE: On November 27th, someone in the building told the news that he saw the victim’s partner run past him on the stairs. (See here)
Why didn’t the police say it was a domestic case in in their description? Why are the police searching for a killer – he would be known to the people in the building.
