Yemeni’s Celebration in Bay Ridge
Some type of Yemeni celebration happened on 5th Avenue. It looked nice, but there was no news coverage of it.
There were no flyers or anyone talking about the event. (It may have had to do with this)
Captain Tolson was almost deliberately vague. (See here) Cpt. Tolson mentioned that the first Yemeni police captain was at the event. His precinct is in Jackson Heights.
I only knew about the event because people asked me what was happening.
It’s strange that information about a cultural event wasn’t shared with the community.
There is a Yemeni Heritage Day celebration coming up in October.

Yemen’s Independence Day in Yemen is November 30th.
