St. A’s Community Prayed – GoFundMe Info
The St. Athanasius Community in Brooklyn sticks together. Early today, the cross at St. A’s was vandalized/damaged.
Tonight parishioners and friends gathered outside St. A’s. Together, they lit candles, prayed the rosary and in traditional Catholic-style called on all the saints they could name. One of the parishioners said, “We don’t hate anyone. We love everyone.”
Finally they sang “Let There Be Peace on Earth.” (See video here)
A GoFundMe was established to pay for the damage done at St. Athanasius. (See here)
I believe I saw Assemblyman Peter Abbate in the video. Who woke him up?
St. Dominic’s sign was brought to St. A’s and laid on the ground. The sign said to Love your God with your mind, heart and soul. And love your neighbor as yourself.” Under that there was the word love in 40 different languages. “We all speak the same language of love.” Last Friday someone cut the banner, pulled it off the wall and and threw it over the wall.
