A Go Fund Me was set up to defray funeral costs in Zagreb, Croatia. See here Over $50,000 was raised to bring Boris back to Croatia and pay for his funeral.
Boris was part of the St. Francis College – Class of 2021 and was remembered at graduation. The college wrote: “Boris Posavec was a member of the Class of 2021, graduating with a BS/MS in Accounting and a beloved member of SFC’s men’s water polo program. The news of his tragic passing has been felt throughout the St. Francis College family. Boris will always be remembered in our hearts and his memory will be forever celebrated within our community.”
