Why Didn’t Jessica Parks Report About Chadwick’s Great News?
Jessica Parks is a journalist for the Brooklyn Paper. Today, Parks published an outdated story about what happened on 3rd Avenue BEFORE Christmas last month. (If you want to see it – it’s here)
HOW STRANGE!
Why does this reporter keep going to Councilman Brannan for the stories, instead of to the neighborhood? Other Brooklyn council members are not covered the same way.
Councilman Brannan hasn’t done anything to assist the merchants with rents or property taxes and help relieve the strain of the pandemic. Many businesses have been closed for nine months due to pandemic restrictions!
In September, Jessica Parks published a story that Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan were saving Century 21. Did Jessica Parks think two politicians were going to stop the chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings? (See here)
We think it was just a campaign ploy by two politicians who tricked a reporter!
When Gounardes and Brannan failed to do anything to help Century’s, Jessica Parks didn’t write a follow-up article and tell Brooklyn the truth.
In the Spring, when some residents put together the Bay Ridge Boost 1 and 2 Events (See here), neither Brannan or Gounardes shared the information about the event on social media.
Before the pandemic, Brannan was so focused on pushing the 3rd Avenue BID on businesses – even when most businesses didn’t want it! Many business owners pushed back and let the community know they weren’t interested in paying more fees. The BID didn’t go through because it didn’t have enough votes!
The real story that Jessica Parks Missed about 3rd Avenue was Chadwicks Restaurant receiving a huge lift during the pandemic! (Story here – Video here)
Chadwicks Restaurant received money from Dave Portnoy’s Barstool Funds to pay their staff while they are closed. Portnoy raised millions to help businesses.
Other merchants in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights are now applying for the Barstool Funds! Some have asked customers to help them create their video entries.
It’s strange that Jessica Parks didn’t consider that important enough to report about. Even stranger…Mathylde Frontus had a lot of events this week, why wouldn’t Parks report about them?
