Brannan Flips Flops on Queens Rezoning
Just a few weeks ago, we saw Councilman Brannan issue a statement on Twitter that he would not support the Queens rezoning.
Today, Brannan was one of the 39 who voted against the Queens community. Those who abstained did so because they know their communities won’t vote for sellouts, but Brannan knows Bay Ridge won’t know about this. See here
Many thought Brannan would be sympathetic to the Asian residents who felt they would be displaced.
A few months ago, there was a rezoning for Industry City, Brannan did not speak up for Sunset Park, even when he knew that further development there would hurt Bay Ridge businesses. Fortunately the people – who are the heart and soul of Brooklyn stood up for Brooklyn and Industry City withdrew it’s plan.
