Daniel Presti gained a lot of support this past week because he is the manager of Macs Public House Bar in Staten Island and has continued indoor dining/socializing despite being in an orange zone.

Many Staten Island residents and business owners support Presti because businesses several blocks away are allowed to be open and have inside dining (they are in a different color zone).

On Saturday night, Presti was stopped by deputies. He got in his Jeep and took off. An officer not in unform was clipped and clung to the hood of Presti’s Jeep for 100 yards. (Story here)

I think most people will say Presti has gone to far. Hurting an officer isn’t okay – they are just doing thier job.
Yet people continued to donate to his GoFund me account which is just under $85K today. (See GoFundMe)
The attorney for the bar said that they had Presti under surveillance because they thought the sheriff’s office might do something.
Tonight, Macs Public House looks like it is closed.
Hugs,
