Fireworks in Brooklyn
The Macy’s Fireworks show on the Hudson is not easy to see from Brooklyn. Every year, people flock to theĀ The best 69th Street Pier to get a view of the amazing show down the river. You have to be on the pier at the end so you can look down and see a view. Get there early so you get to see the fireworks action. The Macys Fireworks Show starts at 9:30 pm and last almost until 10:00 pm. If you get to the 69th Street Pier late, you will get to see crowds of people sitting on the pier while you stand and watch the disappointing fireworks display from NJ.
The Promenade in Brooklyn Heights doesn’t offer a good view of the fireworks show because buildings block the view.
I’ve heard that Transmitter Park in Greenpoint (Greenpoint Avenue and West Street – Brooklyn 11222 – see below map)and the East River State Park (90 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, New York) are also good places to see the fireworks from Brooklyn.
In Bay Ridge on July 4thm there is the Greater Bay Ridge 4th of July picnic from 11:00 am to 9:00 pk at 82nd and Shore Road. There are a lot of free events for the kids including baseball, face painting , rides and of course music. They sell hotdogs, drinks and ice cream, but most people bring their own. I am told that over 2000 people were there.
On Saturday night, there will be fireworks and a concert by Ne-Yo at 9:45 pm at a barge near Fort Hamilton Army base. I guess you will be able to see signs for it at the park near the base.
Hugs,
