On August 20th, Nicole Malliotakis and restaurant owners hit hard against Mayor de Blasio because indoor dining is not allowed in NYC. (See here) Malliotakis has been speaking out against this for over a month. (See here, here and here) Restaurants in Bay Ridge and Staten Island will close if they aren’t allowed to have inside dining at the end of September/October.
If you have read this blog for awhile, you know I am not a fan of Malliotakis, but she has been doing the right thing for business owners in Bay Ridge.
After Malliotakis’ press release on August 20th, two politicians in Bay Ridge brought a stand to a corner and spoke out against it. But that wasn’t on the news….so they did it again today and called the news this time.

The restaurant owners are authentic in their plea. When the restaurants owners spoke out with Malliotakis a few weeks ago, they feared being fined for speaking out.

See streets which had this Why weren’t Bay Ridge businesses given the same opportunity to make money like businesses in other communities.
This Summer, even Mayor de Blasio called out Brannan for being a politician. See here
Andrew Gounardes and Brannan have not put a podium up for home owners who are being overcharged on taxes. And neither have pulled out the podium out for illegal apartments in Dyker Heights. The podium came out today AFTER yesterday’s announcement that indoor dining would be coming soon.
