Construction in Bay Ridge at 1:30 am
![]()
For many nights, we’ve heard construction on 3rd Avenue after 1:00 am.
Tonight it’s been continuous jack-hammering since 1:19 am. (Now 2:30 pm – nonstop).
Construction at night has been a problem in Bay Ridge because the representatives are not strong and don’t seem to care. People have reported the construction to Senator Gounardes. He says it is going to stop, but no one stops. Senator Gounardes does not have any information about this construction on his Facebook page.
Community Board 10 didn’t announce any construction except for 79th and 3rd Avenue….we aren’t near there. (See here) The last update on FB is on August 4th. (See here)
This community needs new leadership.
Construction happening for several nights in a row means there is no one saying for it to STOP. They had to get a permit to work at this time and politicians know when permits have been given.
In other neighborhoods in Brooklyn, the whole street is closed, jack-hammered and re-paved in a day…..during the day. Here there are just patches – this has been going on like this for years.
A lot of children live right near where they are jack hammering.
Hugs,
marlene
