Politicians Meeting Not Helpful – Disorganized
As schools set up hybrid models for September, students and parents are worried because there isn’t enough information yet. It’s the first time schools are doing this so they are taking the time to do it well.
A Zoom meeting happened tonight. This meeting was not helpful mainly because it was not organized. The format used is good if you are talking about making a dog walk – not about school or big decisions for families.
When you are the facilitator of a meeting, you have to have an agenda and be sure you are providing information to those who are attending for information.
Some questions people asked were not answered because that person wasn’t prepared to answer the question. If questions were collected beforehand, then the speakers would have been able to provide more information.
This is not like the beginning of the pandemic – where people can sit around on Zoom because they don’t have anything else to do. People have things to do during the Summer and need answers.
Throughout the meeting they call on parents who aren’t there. Both politicians have attended Zoom meetings and know this wastes time.
Don’t hold a meeting if you don’t hold the information. Say, “I don’t have enough information to have a meeting yet.”
Hugs,
marlene
