Bay Ridge Democrats Social Media Account
Senator Andrew Gounardes’ political club, the Bay Ridge Democrats don’t think women have the right to discuss politicians on social media. Yesterday, The Bay Ridge Democrats responded to me.
I was taken back and told them to get lost. When they didn’t, I wrote to Chris McCreight on Twitter. McCreight, the Club’s President ignored me when I called him out for being a jerk. If it was a mistake, he would have corrected this right away.
As you can see, I asked a critic of the old senator if she thought Gounardes was any different.PEOPLE CAN ASK THAT.
The Bay Ridge Democrats know Senator Gounardes isn’t the leader he claimed he would be. In fact, he’s the reason many people can’t get help. Last year, Andrew said it was because he was new and that in 2020 he would get things done. Then he did nothing except advocate for a special interest group and correct his bill from last year that had a loophole.
Senator Gounardes was on social media today and saw what his club wrote to me. He didn’t speak out against his club for their immaturity and for being inappropriate. The tweets remained up.
The Bay Ridge Democrats have been out-of-touch for awhile. They supported Bernie Sanders, while Democrats in the United States went with Biden. Even Democrats in Bay Ridge were even surprised that the club supported the socialist candidate and knew Bernie wouldn’t win throughout the US.
McCreight, Gounardes and others watched as the former senator’s staff played around like this online to try to intimidate people from sharing the truth. We are surprised they are following this trend.
A few days ago, Justin Brannan’s staffer responded to me after I called out Brannan for using press release politics during the pandemic. Councilman Brannan and Borough President Eric Adams wrote about hospitals that needed PPE, while both men have city funds and could have purchased the PPE for the Brooklyn hospitals in need, rather than writing that article. Even stores in our neighb0rhood have the supplies.

First, why is Councilman Brannan’s staffer writing to me? Brannan can defend his own stupidity. Then the staffer pretended she didn’t know who I was. I have told this woman my name and I discussed my background with her years ago. I can’t help it if she has a bad memory! This staffer worked for Brannan’s opponent in the 2017 and she probably didn’t appreciate me sharing Kadia Goba’s article about him, but she shouldn’t have supported someone who couldn’t have explained what happened to the money!
I contributed to Councilman Brannan’s campaign, so he knows my name, address, phone number, email, job, etc. Why is his staffer so out-of-touch that she wouldn’t know that? Why didn’t Brannan correct her mistake?
Pathetically, Councilman Justin Brannan’s Twitter account “Liked” his staffer’s comment (see pic below), even though he knew it’s false. If you don’t want people to talk about you playing politics, stop filling the paper with nonsense AND stop taking money from developers.
Since I had the staffer’s attention, I asked her about her boss taking money from developer’s. She didn’t deny that he was doing it or say she would look into it. She was just silent. This is how corruption happens in communities. People are silent because they are afraid to speak out against someone doing the wrong thing. Corruption doesn’t like transparency or anyone asking for the truth.
This was the second time a staffer from Brannan’s office has been unprofessional to me on social media. I could see if I was saying something untrue or insulting Brannan’s looks, but this response is inappropriate for someone saying the truth about something important in Bay Ridge. I have been speaking out against press release politics for years because it hurts our community.
Years ago, the Bay Ridge Democrats had people who weren’t afraid and spoke out about corruption, but time and people change. It still doesn’t make it right. I’ll still be here speaking the truth because there are enough people who want to know.
