Daily News
Madeline Brennan, former principal of Dyker Heights Intermediate School 201 died yesterday at the age of 93. She was the principal for 50 years before retiring in 2013. See here
Mrs. Brennan was a legend.
The success of Dyker Heights Intermediate School happened because of her excellent leadership. She believed in her staff and described them as the “most, professional, dedicated, hard-working people that any principal would die for.” (Source) She had high standards and believed that school was a special place.

Her death was not due to the coronavirus. (Source)
The President of the Council for School Supervisors and Administrators also called Mrs. Brennan a legend and honors her on Twitter by saying: Great Schools Begin with Great Leaders.
Brennan spent five decades of her life at IS 201 because she loved the school. When the coronavirus is over, IS 201 will celebrate Mrs. Brennan’s life with an event.
I imagine Mrs. Brennan was met at the gates of heaven with many welcoming her in singing her favorite song YMCA.
RIP.
Hugs,
marlene
